You're going to argue that the gaming market in Japan isn't actually down majorly. It's all a ruse.

Well he (ruler) made the statement gamers have fallen (because the decline in final fantasy really showcases gamers falling and has nothing to do with how horid Square Enix is at handling the mainline series in recent generations), but we don't factor in that mobile gaming is still gaming and overall the gaming market is most likely still very strong in Japan, we just don't see the other side. Also lets be honest, when game franchise does things right it doesn't have this horrible decline that we saw just now ie: Persona, and Pokemon.

Pokemon got things right by having Pokemon Go push the series popularity to levels never seen before. Persona has been growing as it's moved away from the more edgy SMT area into more mainstream type of RPG. Final Fantasy hasn't had a big game or success in any of the other media it's released.

Well again, that is something I blame Square, not gamers. Which is what the original statement tried to imply.

since when is 3% more segnificant? Metacritic is only western reviewers they dont have an impact on japan
