silly silly film... right now there is so much push and homo propaganda in medias that I  feel really uncomfortable /as hetero/...

How hard it must be for you.

People think you're an asshole just by saying you are straight.

People stop talking to you because you dont have any "Pride"

People (and especially girls) start to hate you because they think you're closed minded for feeling uneasy around gay/bisexual persons

Being straight automatically means you're a douchebag, who likes to see women as sex objects, You cannot have an honest relationship without  people thinking you are cheating/being typical straight male that is a douchebag

Your girl will always think you are being unloyal unless you are bisexual, because bisexuals automatically are more "honest"

If you have issues people will ignore because "You don't know how it feels"

If you actually want a stable relationship with one person people will doubt you, because thats totally not what straight people dp, and you end up very lonely since there isn't any person who will give a damn.

If you are straight no one will give a damn, if you are bisexual everyone wants to date you, if you are gay everyone gives you extra attention, if you are a transexual they treat you like a baby and give you compelete freedom.

If you are straight it automatically means you're one of those annoying "God hates Homos" people , while in reality you don't hate anyone, and would just want to live a happy life, but people will think that way, because "you don't know how it feels"

I can go on and on, I am sorry, but I honestly hate how pretentious and annoying the "Support homos!" and "Women are superior! (femenism)" thing, when the media focuses too much on that and less about actual REAL Problems

I am sorry, but I don't see Gay marriage as a topic that everyone have to discuss, Marriage after all is so overplayed and pointless, if you love someone you can love them without marrying them, let me ask you something, whats the difference between a couple and  a married couple? , a ring and a name, they both can live together happy, they both can have sex, they both love each other, and they both want each other.

Unions between men and women are older than "marriages" period I guess but that isnt my point.

Point is - Christianity is against homosexuality as a act - so why are the churches and the state pushing forth churches to do homosexual weddings. Why not just give them the certificate/license for a civil union? Why bend the laws of a church?

What happened to separation between Church and State?

It would be relatively easy to separate them, just remove marriage from the Church and lets them have "blessings" with no legal power instead. In order to fully separate Church and State, you can't let anything that happens in a church have any legal power. Why not have it like a Christening? Important to the religious, but has no impact on anyone else. But if the Church insists on keeping the legal recognition, they have to keep with the times. It is exactly the same as them being forced to perform interracial marriages, and stopped from underage marriage, two other times where they have had to change.

And a lot of legal rights and benefits.

Nobody is forcing churches to do anything. Gay marriage has been legal in Canada for 10 years now. I got married to my boyfriend last August and we couldn't get married in a Catholic church because the Catholic Church doesn't approve of gay weddings. We still had a wonderful wedding with the ceremony taking place at the same hotel we were having the reception. The ceremony was done by a priest from a branch of Christianity who allows gay weddings.

So legalizing gay marriage doesn't mean forcing any Church to do something against their faith, it's simply gives gay people the option to get married.

If you're talking about your hand-holding point before it's nitpicking at best. Yes girls holding hands isn't frowned upon but two boys holding hands is looked down on so the fact that people in that alternate world consider boys and girls holding hands as a sign of being hetero fits perfectly because it mirrors an actual reaction from reality.

It isn't nickpicking, is a clear double standard which heavily weakens the point the movie is trying to make, it could have avoided this by having the main character be a boy where such a thing is uncommon.  It also tries to do a gender role swap at dinner for some reason which just adds more confusion and seems to imply being gay makes you automatically bad at sports.

The film had a nice idea but the execution is horrible.

I agree, there are some things that could have been better. They should have went all the way and make it so same-sex couples were the only way to procreate. To me, what's important is that they did manage to show how it is to live in a world where your sexuality is enough for people to hate you without good reason and present it from a point of view that straight people can identify with more easily.

You have every right to think marriage is pointless but it is important to some. Why should it out of reach for gay people and accessible only to straights?

What about not being able to visit your partner in hospital? There are a lot of rights tied to marriage

Agree 100% with you, because in AUS you have to be stupidly in love to marry someone n the first place. After all we do loose some benefits as the tax office considered a combined wage instead of a single wage for some benefits.

Well thats a problem of the laws.

since when did they forbid you from visiting your girlfriend/boyfriend in hospital?
