| BasilZero said: @Osc89 Unions between men and women are older than "marriages" period I guess but that isnt my point. Point is - Christianity is against homosexuality as a act - so why are the churches and the state pushing forth churches to do homosexual weddings. Why not just give them the certificate/license for a civil union? Why bend the laws of a church? What happened to separation between Church and State? |
It would be relatively easy to separate them, just remove marriage from the Church and lets them have "blessings" with no legal power instead. In order to fully separate Church and State, you can't let anything that happens in a church have any legal power. Why not have it like a Christening? Important to the religious, but has no impact on anyone else. But if the Church insists on keeping the legal recognition, they have to keep with the times. It is exactly the same as them being forced to perform interracial marriages, and stopped from underage marriage, two other times where they have had to change.
