Wow, so much for people thinking society has progressed much. Sounds like everyone here is paying to be in a relationship and women are in it for the money.
I got a girlfriend, and yes, there was a time when being with her was expensive, but now that I'm going to school for my second bachelor's and she has a well paying job, she's the breadwinner. But I wouldn't call myself a gigolo. If you're with a true partner (not a dependent), it goes back and forth. Oh, and we had sex way before we went on a date, so I guess I never really had to pay for it even though later on I paid for dates and such. I just did because I was raised to practice chivalry (another outdated sentiment I guess).
As for strictly paying for it, I don't think anything is wrong with it so long as the two people involved are consenting adults who are not hurting anyone (significant others, themselves via STD's, introducing violence or risky behavior to the mix, etcetera). Never paid and never will, but under the right circumstances, were I single I could see myself doing so. Like say, I was a billionaire and offered Audrina Lima a million to spend one night with me just because I could, hehe.
