Forums - Gaming - Has any console ever received as much negative press prior to it's reveal as the Nextbox has?

Honest question

Ive never seen so many negative rumors and news articles for a console that isn't even announced as the next Xbox has. I mean at this point is there even a single positive rumor or news article about the console?

Pre-reveal has to belong completely to the Wii. Or at least in the gap between April 2006 when it was named and E3 2006 when it given its full showing (after TGS 2005 controller reveal, or vague announcement at e3 2005)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

PS3. Following E3 2006, it was heavily bashed for its price tag.

Idk while it was treated poorly by the media at least the Nintendo faithful were still excited for Mario, Zelda, etc.

At this point it doesnt seem like litteraly anyone has anything good to say about the new Xbox. Every day theres more negative stories, rumors, and threads

Oops, my mistake, I read it as "prior to its release." XD

Like Nintendo, Microsoft could stop most of the negativiy a heartbeat if they just opened their mouths and gave us something to look forward to. Why they continue to be so stupidly closed-mouthed is beyond me. Look at Sony; they're not being coy, they showed games, features, the things people want to know. They understand that people need something to be excited about, why can't the others get it through their blast-door-thick skulls?

(Phew, sorry, my frustration is getting the better of me...)

I have to agree

At this point Wii U is out, Ps4 is revealed and looking good, and MS is getting absolutly trashed in the media and internet

Why they are so silent still is beyond me

Gamers and computer users knocked the 'Adam Computer' which was an upgrade to Coleco Vision's console -with tape drive storage. But it was supported as a 'must have if you love your kid' present for the Holiday. The good PR it had was nauseating, but us 'in the know' knew it wasn't good. But that was before the internet.

I have never seen anything like the venom spewed to the next Xbox since the PS4 reveal. It usually boils down to the same few lines and commits from a particular fan group. It has become their hobby, and it's almost comical.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on them, I have a feeling they will be eating their words later.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!
