Does CoD, FIFA, BF, and Madden actually sell consoles? Those games just seem to be SW centric sales-wise.

The biggest increase in hardware sales every year (expect some exclusives) are CoD and FIFA... BF and Madden are low hardware sales.

Obviously. Way more than a random title like Bioshock: Infinite that has no hype outside the gaming community. CoD and FIFA are the system sellers that sell PS3 and 360. BF and Madden sell systems too, but less.

That doesn't make any sense, really. Why would a game that comes out consistently, for the same consoles, sell systems? Wouldn't people already've bought these consoles before, when the games came out before? I can see CoD and FIFA being system sellers for the PS4 and XB720 (since they didn't have the games yet), but for the PS3 and 360? It just doesn't make sense...

Anyhow, I don't see the PS3 nor the 360 getting major boosts from SW releases this year, especially multi-plat releases. (They'll still get boosts, of course, but I just don't see these boosts being as significant as before.)

Bundles... I don't know but CoD and FIFA sells consoles every year... a lot of consoles.

It makes perfect sense. There are new gamers every year, and they will want to buy a console for the latest in the hottest franchises. There are also Wii gamers defecting to PS3/360, and PS2 gamers that haven't already switched. You really should go to a midnight launch of CoD or something and see the systems being bought in the truck-loads. I saw the same with FIFA here last year.

I would never go to a mid-night launch for CoD.

Are there that many new gamers a year? That many people who have still not traded in their PS2's for a new console? I just don't see these games picking up the HW sales as much as they would during the beginning of the generation. (Which makes, in my opinion.)

Global SW up.

Finally.... it is Monday!!! I was thinking if anything happened to ioi.

They adjusted the fuck out of the USA numbers for the Wii U. Everything from now up to launch week. I'm guessing they don't want to be embarrassed again when the NPD numbers arrive this week...wouldn't be surprised if it happened again though. :p

Bioshock had great opening numbers. Wonder how much it'll hold...

Are you sure? Because I got only a -933 units in Wii U data. Latest biggest adjustment in Wii U numbers are in 2nd March with +22,336 units.

It wasn't so much the size of the numbers, but the amount of time it covered. I had to go through literally every single week since launch to line up my chart with the current number.

So the 3ds with the release of Luigi Mansion 2, Pokemon Mistery Dungeon and the Special Edition pikachu 3dsXL only increased 14% in the U.S?
