Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sony and Microsoft Core gamers only! Realistically, will you ever buy a Nintendo product again?

Of course. I'm a one console guy though, I don't see the point in having more than one, so I carefully make my decision. Honestly the Wii U isn't what I am looking for.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

how can i know if ill ever buy there products again? maybe they will make new products that im interested in. new games that will make me interested in the the products they have now. why would i rule out buying products from a company forever because what they offer at the moment doesnt appeal to me?

i was once a nintendo fan, that could happen again in the future, why would i just decide that thats something that will never happen?

I bought the gamecube, literally for resident evil remake and zero

I own a 360 and Ps3.

I bought the Wii U for the flawless streaming capability.. this one function multiplies every other function. It's all my devices in one. Everything is flawless.

No other device can do interactive video streaming without latency.. not even ps4.. end of story.

No, nothing they make is good anymore. I don't see a reason in getting anything they make.

At the moment, no chance at all. I played the Wii U here and there at the local store, but everytime it just really underwhelms me. NSMBU is just more of the same, ZombiU is somewhat fun, but I've seen better games on the PS3 so it just doesn't justify an investment of 400 €+.

I grew up with Nintendo all the wayback to the NES. But they just lost focus sometime down the line. Instead of making funny controllers, they should really aiming for making quality games. They absolutely have the know how and the man power to make some of the best games ever. But they shifted their main focus to something different. Something which I'm not a part of. Back in the days, you had your Nintendo IPs like Mario and always new games like Goldeneye, DKC, Blast Corps, Doshin the Giant and what not. There was always something fresh, even when 3rd paries virtually abandoned Nintendo. But with the Wii, Nintendo got real boring for me. I don't care for Wii Sports, Wii Music, Wii Fit and all that stuff. You just didn't see much creativity from Nintendo and that realy turned me off. Sure, their controllers were innovative, but the games were absolutely not.

It started even with the DS. I hoped for a nes Game Boy, as I loved the GBA, but the DS just never really catched me. I played it at friends sometimes, and yeah, there were some fun games like Lost in Blue, Phoenix Wright and some others. but just nothing that made me really want the system. The 2 screens is also something I find to be quite irritating to this day. That's why I switched to Sony and bought a PSP in 2005. And boy, I fell in love with that sucker. Games like Metal Gear Ac!d, Pursuit Force and of course the portable GTA just blew my mind. So did the graphics, I didn't know that something like that was possible on a portable. Later on there was homebrew, so I could use the PSP as a mobile SNES, NES, GB, GBA and PSX. I spent more time with the PSP than with GB and GBA combines. Really the most awesome handheld ever made.

Because of that, I quickly checked out other consoles from Sony, namely the PS2 and I had a real fun time with that too. So I also went to PS3, which is today my favourite console by far. Not only the good hardware makes you like Playstation, it's also the games. I'ver never seen somehting like Heavy Rain, it just blew my mind completely. Never before had I experienced so much emotion in a video game.

In all that time, I always followed new releases from Nintendo. But the love never came back. Characters like Mario just annoy me today. Sure, it was fun in the 80s, but just give this guy a rest. He is really overused more than ever. I heard about some new games also, Xenoblade even made me buy a Wii. But I was really disappointed. The system felt even more outdated than I imagined and the game looked really bad in comparison to what I'm used on the PS3. I'm not exactly what you would call a graphics whore, but I do like shiny optics. It just adds so much to a game. When something looks good, you just automatically like it even more. Or as we germans say: "Das Auge isst mit."

So in the end, I think Nintendo should focus again on quality games with decent hardware. They don't have to make hardware that blows away the competition, just make it so that it doesn't have problems to keep up with 7 year old consoles for crying out loud! Now if you say Nintendo can survive with a classic console I say screw that. I wouldn't care if they went 3rd Party, all i care for is the games. The Plattform isn't all that important. But I think Nintendo can be successfull with a classic video game system. They just need to forget about all that casual bullshit and make games no one can possibly resist.

As for now, I'm a really big Sony Fan. But I won't hate on Nintendo as I know from the past that they made some of the best games ever made. Shigeru Miyamoto is more talented than every single developer at Sony. But with a bad strategy, even a mastermind like Miyamoto just goes to waste.

I can see myself buying Nintendo again in the future if they deliver what I want. But for the Wii U and 3DS, there's just no chance in hell. I got my Vita and I'm more than happy with that. And the PS4 is already pre-ordered. I just don't know how the hell Sony could possibly let me down. They would have to fuck up real bad. But what do I know, I thought the same about Nintendo when I was younger. We'll see what the future brings.

Free typos for everybody!

tl;dr: I liked Nintendo once, nut now I'm all Sony.

I own the 3DS and the Wii U eventually. My whole life has always been a mixture of consoles never settling for just one brand. I mean why only limit myself to just MS or Sony or Nintendo when I can have the best of all three?

I will get a DS or 3DS if the Vita does die, but I am kept very busy already by PC, PS360 gaming

Nope I won't. I want challenging games that push me, like Dark Souls & Planetside, not Mario Karts or Zelda, which is more of the same...for the last 15 years.
