No, Ban people who start unconstructive threads on a daily basis, with no other motivation than to start a flamewar, and ban them when they brag about liking fire.

Ban people who constantly bash people due to what SYSTEM they own, or like.

Noone is a kiddy for owning a Wii

I approve of this thread.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

I agree and it's why i started my 'concerns' thread this place is going down the toilet, and going down the toilet FAST.

These things run in cycles.  I remember when kwaad got banned for starting a slightly silly thread, and then all kinds of people spoke up and mentioned that they thought that this bannation was a bit too aggressive, and thus, he was invited back.  Now, we seem to have a few more trouble-makers that people are complaining about.

While I think that the mods have gotten a little bit lax lately, it would be a mistake to go back to the non-sensical banning like what happened to kwaad.

NOTHING was nonsensical about Kwaad original Banning. He was banned for just cause, and re-invited by Soft moderators, who dont care about the community.

He was banned for making threads for the sole purpose to incite flames, the same thing he is STILL doing, and admitting to, in his "How Nintendo." thread

*walks in to thread, notices many scowels in my direction*

Ok guys.  Sometimes things get a little hairy in here. But It's not always as easy to do the mod thing as some people seem to think. A thread that starts out as quite lockable quickly looses lockability the longer it's open, as people start posting in it and turn things into a viable conversation.

As for banning. Yes, there are a few people in here that tend to be at the route of most problems. But their only the route because of how other people choose to respond in an even poorer manner. Kwaad and Hus are by no means a valuable contribution to the board, but you know that old "first sinner cast the first stone thing"? Well a lot of people are too busy hurling stones to realize that well... they shouldn't be hurling stones.

Now I've been away for a few days, but if I see someone crossing the line, I'll take the appropriate actions. Now if you'd like to do yoru part to keep the forums clean(and I mean all of you), it's to not so quickly devolve into that which you despise.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Fair enough, but when a thread is started as a lockable thread like most of Kwaad's and Hus's threads, just lock them, that way no one is given the chance to turn the thread into a flame war

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I agree with the original poster and I think mods need to act more though I realize there seems to be a lack of policy on where to actually "draw the line" without resorting to banning. Where is the line, stof? I mean when we talked about adding mods and what they should do even that thread wasn't free of troll attacks and we did not reach consensus. One idea for known trolls is to remove their right to open threads.

 Agree.

Oh I agreee with this. everyone here just bashes each other like crazy and acts all fanboysish, and no it isn't just Kwaad and Hus that do it. This is one of the reasons why I can't take these forums too seriously. come to PSU forums and you see how orderly things are kept.
