The Ranking system is worthless and Im lost at why its there( not really). The ranking system has nothing to combos and more to do with not getting hit. Unlike the real DMC, there is no rush to keep combos going because the grade will never fall past the letter you have as long as you dont get hit. If you hhave an A you will stay at an A untill you build to next rank. The result screen is also weird. When grading your fighting ability your only graded on the highest rank you achieved not how many, so as long as you get SSS once you dont have worry.

What are you arguing here? "The ranking system has nothing to do with combos and more to do with not getting hit"? Some combo meters caculate hits based on not getting hit  or breaking continuous progress on the hit counter (GOW, Bayonetta). The SSS was about being creative with your moveset, not about combos. The meter counted points based on how many different moves you compiled into the hit counter and scored you on variation rather than spamming one move. You still have to be an above average player to get the SSS ranking, especially after a level, they just tweaked it so the SSS meter is a combo meter. Theres no harm in it and im sure it will most likely change in the next game. They made the meter more accessible to a broader audience, but that doesnt mean the player with the entry level skills will get a SSS.

Im not arguing anything. Just commenting on the weird rank system thats in place.

EDIT: I do want to say that it is not difficult in the slightest to get a SSS rank. Im not really saying its a problem just that Im waaay more relaxed when playing this DMC versus others. You can take your time getting a SSS rank. Its just weird

DMC is certainly a lot better than I was expecting...and is indeed a worthy addition to the series (I honestly thought it was gonna suck big time!)....but the only 'recent' capcom console game I've played is re5 and, yes, I prefer dmc to it by a large margin (Incidentally, I prefer re:revelations but it's not a console game-yet-so I can't include it)

ps I preferred BAYONETTA to any dmc game, except maybe the first.

I know I am in the minority of people on this game, but I have no interest in playing this game.
not because of dante's look but because it is 30fps with shallow combat system and the fact it is made by a mediocre western developer instead of deeloping it in house or using another Japanese development studio

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

IMO. Yes. RE was crap, don't like fighting games, and this DmC is superior to part 4 imo. Gameplay is on the same level, more accesible though (which is good). The setting and character are way more appealing to me.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Play it on PC with a gamepad at 60FPS (like thats an exclusive). There you have no excuse.

Ninja Theory? mediocre? LMAO...that company has greatness written all over them in the next gen. Watching that company grow from an infant stage to where they are now has been a pleasure to watch. They gave DMC amazing level design, between antagonist character design, superior animations and a believable storyline. Thats more than I can say for the old version of DMC.

The fact that this is Capcom's best game in years is truly a reflection on how bad they've gotten.  DmC is by no means a terrible game... but it is hardly anything great either.

They can't be stopped...

Dragon's Dogma, Monster Hunter Tri, and Asura's Wrath are far better games than DMC. DMC is half as long as the old games, and has less talented voice actors (At least the English voice acting).

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I can't tell if thats a good review or a bad one... lol.

the way I see it, cosidering that 50 out of 53 reviewers on metacritic recommend it(360 version), reviews are in the bag.

But regarding Ninja Theory, this turned out way better than if Capcom made this internally.
