Forums - Gaming Discussion - THQ bidding ends: Vigil's done, older IPs to be auctioned in a few weeks

It would be interesting if Nintendo shows out of nowhere and buys one of the franchises, if they want to expand the core games they could buy Darksiders, Saints Row or Metro. I guess it depends on how "cheap" they can buy the studios of those games.

Does anyone know who else are bidding besides Ubi, EA, and WB? I

I understand that at least ten additional bidders stepped forth in the past month, but their identities and levels of commitment are unknown to me.

Nintendo should buy Volition or Relic.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I want Valve to buy Relic and the rights for Warhammer games.

Relic have always been brilliant for PC Gaming, Valve would be the perfect place for them. Unfortunately though, I can see Activision stepping in.

Vigil Games, with Darksiders - Ubisoft

Volition, with Saints Row - Activision or EA

Rights for WWE games should go to EA Sports. That would be good.

I would like to see microsoft aquire volition, just because I think they need some more oomf to their first party line up. I see a lot of the ip's going to EA, but I think WB will end up with most of the studios...

please company of heroes, metro and saints row in good hands!

Saints row would be a good buy!

Metro's particularly interesting because Last Light is essentially finished, meaning whoever acquires the license basically gets a "free" game (excluding marketing and distribution costs, which can be expensive). I wonder if that will tempt someone who wouldn't otherwise bother?

I totally forgot about that game!

Hopefully someone (good) buys it up, it looked pretty interesting.

pretty sorry list of IPs imo. south park is the only thing i'm interested in and it looks like that isn't up for sale.  guess i don't really care who get 'em.
