I'll take it as absolute garbage. I believe this discussion has come many a time before. It's illogical to think they don't pay or offer incentives (in fact, it'd be a horrendous business move not to).
OT: Hope it does well. Wii U needs more Q1 support.

yea smart marketing would get th led out, and fire in.

I don't understand why some people think it's a horrible thing to do. It's just business, as you said.

I hope the Demo covers online play and shows how the communication between online co-op players will work and also how easy/hard the match-making and drop-in/drop-out multiplayer is. The same game on Wii had horrible communication options... this better not be just HD version.

Clearly Nintendo does offer some incentives. The CCPro was basically conceived for Monster Hunter Tri.
My guess is that MHTri wasn't originally a moneyhat (Capcom thought it would be easier to make for Wii than PS3), but it definitely became one. Certainly something exchanged hands for Nintendo to get Capcom to keep away M from Vita like they have. And then they'll offer publishing or promotional support, like with Lego City Undercover, Dragon Quest IX, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.
What Nintendo doesn't seem to moneyhat is multiplats, like Microsoft's effort to get games like GTAIV and FFXIII made at all for 360.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Didn't Iwata say something like "Yeah no we'll partner with studios and all but not purchase exclusives outright?" Like they can port to other consoles if they want to. (Which generally ends up happening anyways)

I wonder how much Sony paid Capcom to take MH away from Ninendo (remember MH Tri was released for Wi).
Glad there is a demo. Never played MH but it looks interesting. Also, is the online still gonna be free in NA?

I believe I read somewhere they did it because of low development costs compared to the PS3.
Don't think that's the only reason but I'm sure the portable versions were released on the PSP thanks thanks to its analog stick which the DS didn't have, I think that's a no-brainer.
Not to mention the home console versions of previous gens weren't as great sales wise. Maybe they just didn't want to risk it.
