Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What will be the first non-Nintendo Wii U game to hit a million sales?

Bayonetta2, Lego City ( even though vgchartz says they are publishing), ZombiU, other? Any third party game? Even the 3DS only has 2 third party titles with over a million in sales! That has taken a while and a lot of 3DS systems sold.

VGChartz says Nintendo is publishing Lego City because they are publishing Lego City...

They announced this at E3 2011...

And Game Informer published an article restating this...

None, ever. ZombiU is only doing good because it was a launch title and I doubt it will reach a million. Without all the casuals of the Wii only hardcore heavy hitters have any chance of making it and usually all of those are made by Nintendo. Therefore, none.

wanna make a bet? I say at least 1 3rd party publisher will sell over 1m on Wii U...

I'd take the bet further and say at least 5 will sell over 1m, and at least 2 of those 5 will sell more than 2.5m.

well, I wouldn't bet against that ;)

The reason I don't take it further than even that is because this is my minimum, and we don't have the most clear view of the Wii U's future, but I feel confident it should at least do that with 3rd party titles.

Monster Hunter or Lego seem the best options at the moment.

damn, how could I forget about MH?!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

well, the bare minimum would be GC numbers, wouldn't it?

Shame on you. The game is the reason I bought a WiiU.

But it isn't a Nintendo game, that's the point.

According to vgchartz, quite a large number of non-Nintendo games hit 1m sales in relation to the total amount of million sellers.

If we use GC numbers as a minimum, we should change 5 to something like 20.

Nintendo IS publishing Lego City--It was one of the first Wii U games they even announced at their E3 2011 show, when it was called Lego City Stories. It's made by a third party, but on this site we tend to consider games published by the platform holder as first-party (ie Gears of War).

With that in mind, I'd say ZombiU. I wish there was a way to track digital sales for all these systems, though--it would make these things a lot easier to judge.
