3.5million sales is a flop? Since when?!

I mean, it didn't meet or pass expectations but that is still a successful game.

Oh calling it a flop is an exageration though. It didnt perform as good as expectated but it was still a sucess.

Spot on. Seeing as how the game likely made a lot of profit, I don't see how it's not a success, or how it's a failure.

Haven't we been over this? If Capcom had to cut its revenue projections because of this game's performance, then it's a failure. Much like Wii Music was almost definitely a failure even though it almost definitely scored a healthy net profit for Nintendo.

So a game can only be successful if it meets expectations? Crazy.

It's all about expectations. If i went to a producer and said "this movie will make you $300 million, and will only cost about 100 million to make," but i only got $200 million, well, that's not what i promised.

how many copies of RE6 actually sold out of the 4.5m shipped?

3.6 according to VGChartz.

Their projections were always way too high about the game though. At one point they expected it to sell 10 million. The problem is, the game wasnt as good has they  expected it to be. I think there were marketing problems in comparison to RE5 where there was a strong component of sex-appeal drawing in consumers, but also because of the terrible choice of controls and subsequant bad reviews. Its not a bad game im sure, and i am gonna get it still but i wasnt pleased with what i tried with the demo. Why do Japanese always feel the need to reinvent the wheel just cause it was invented by westerners? I know its dificult to admit to them, but the Gear of War/Mass effect controls are as best as 3rd person shooters get. Difficult to copy the controle scheme i suppose.

In my opinion though, they should've kept to the RE4/5 formula of tanks controls. Its their trademark, it works. RE revelations was awesome with it aswell. RE6 just took a wrong turn. Its time to back up and steer the franchise in a different direction that what they did.

Oh calling it a flop is an exageration though. It didnt perform as good as expectated but it was still a sucess.

GoW' scheme wouoldn't exist without RE4, so I think your causation might be a bit confused.

That's not too bad, looks like profit at least. I don't know why Capcom thinks gamers will keep eating their shit up if the games drop in overall quality as time goes on though.

They dont look at quality then look at quantity (sales) unfortunately! RE revelation (3DS) was their best game IMO and get way below sales compared to the others especially RE6

Remember how people got upset because I put Resident Evil 6 on the top 10 flop list........

...And you are still wrong.

I am accusing you (again) of abusing overdramatic terms as cheap click bait.

Capcom on resident evil 6: "successful to some degree"

3.6 mil is not a flop. Expand your vocabulary and have a nice day.

the 1 and only shipment.

Good, it'll be able to pick it up from the bottom of the bargain bin earlier than expected.

Firstly, if you consider $100 million in profit a failure, under any circumstances, then I guess you're beyond reason.

Secondly, that analogy doesn't work because you're introducing a third party. There was no third party who promised Capcom they would make a certain amount.

Expectations are just that, expectations. They are what a company expects to make based on market situaion. It's based on predictions on likelyhood. It is NOT necessarily based around success or failure. Expectations =/= needed to be a success.

If I was selling products, and I needed to sell 100 units to make a profit, I could expect to sell 200 units because of what I predict the market to be like. But that doesn't change the fact that if I sell over 100 units, it's still a profit. If I were to sell 150 units, which would be 50 units in profit, it's not like I'll be like "Well, this product has been unsuccessful, it's time to close shop. No, it's less than I expected, but more than enough for a success.

i am glad this flop, maibe this way they can make a good res evil game

Do you think so?
The upper heads at Capcom are as stupid as the ones at SquareEnix

You don't like our game?Well we push even more into that direction! You don't want Versus13 for the PS3....You want the next FF13 garbage! We know it!
We have to get the attention of the CoD Gamers! They are bigger than the J-RPG Fanbase!

Same goes for Capcom
They even said they aim for the CoD Community cause they are bigger than the Survival Horror Community
What Capcom will do is turning the next Resident Evil Main Title in an even worse game that is closer to Call of Duty or Gears than it is to something in the Resident Evil Franchise.

As long as CoD is selling that good those stupid people ruling those companies will do everything to achieve the same success cause they don'T want to understand that CoD people don't play anything else except for maybe Halo.
There won't be a good Resident Evil/Capcom/SquareEnix etc Game anymore as long as they don't go back to their TRUE Fanbase(Sony/nintendo people) and to their main audience(Japanese market and people who like those games)

I actually enjoyed Resident Evil 6.

That being said it's not nearly as good as it could have been. I have no idea why Capcom thinks RE is like COD. It's nothing like it and shouldnt be
