You people do realize that France isn't PAL, correct?

You do know its in Europe right?

"Sony has announced that total PS3 console sales in PAL territories have passed the 30 million unit mark as of December 17th."

They are talking about sales in PAL regions. If not they would have said sales in Europe and PAL (they only mention that when they talk about the popularity of the console).

France is not a PAL territory, France accounts for ~4.4 M consoles.

Well the title and article said "PLAYSTATION®3 SALES REACH 30 MILLION UNITS ACROSS EUROPE AND THE PAL TERRITORIES"

"London, 19th December 2012 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced that the cumulative sales of the PlayStation®3 (PS3®) computer entertainment system reached a milestone of 30 million units across Europe and the PAL territories as of 17th December 2012, demonstrating the continued popularity and momentum of the PS3® platform."

Actually,i think we can say the number are countries counted by SCEE

Yeah I saw that. My mistake.

It does seems highly overtracked in Europe, but i think the World Total are close to the real one (if we take into account the 70 M shipped figure they released).

30m today....the world tomorrow.

mwuahahahaha.

Overtracked in EU/PAL. The question is - Where?

What were our numbers like compared to Ninty EU Charts last time out?

I think from the above link we will know how many countries are included in the PR. But once again, good job for SCEE and screw you, MS Europe.

From a hardcore 360 fan.

vgc said for 8th december numbers that ~10,793,000 consoles have been sold outside of europe+usa+japan.

now we would have to know how much counts for rest of north-america and the other none pal regions and we would know how much vgc has for europe and pal regions.

Thats only Europe.  Not sure it helps.

I know. It's just that he asked about the numbers released by Nintendo so I linked him to it.

To Kowen:

You don't need to quesiton my love on 360. I expect 360 to be the best selling console as well in Europe, but it just doesn't happen.

If you compare 360 with first gen XBOX, yes, it is a big progress. Nobody will deny it. But comparing to PS3, I think it is not enough. MS Europe didn't find a good way to convince most of gamers in Mainland Europe to choose 360 as their preferred home console. I know it is not easy because Playstation brand is so popular and so dominant here. But MS Europe must overcome this issue, otherwise, XBOX brand will never have chance to beat Playstation in the near future.
