Doesn't matter to the haters. Nintendo is still to blame. Just watch.

Well they are, since Sony/MS only block such content on the german PS Store/XBL store, in the countries where it is fine (pretty much every other) they allow what is allowed.

Just like I said.

No, you said haters, I just stated a fact.  Which you ironically clearly hate, because it shows Nintendo as failing.

No, you clearly did not read the article at all.  You just came in to hate.  Because if you'd have read the article, you'd not have made the post you did.

To illustrate, NoE is an exception because it is based in Germany, which makes circumventing this law much harder. SCEE and MSE are based in the UK.

Apparently that doesn't matter to some of these poeple.  Just like I said in my first post would happen.

I was hoping the criticism was born from misinterpreting the "Since Nintendo of Europe is based in Germany, Nintendo eShop is complying with German youth protection regulation which therefore applies to all our European markets" part as "Nintendo is forcing a specific regulation on the entirety of Europe because they're crazy like that". Though come to think of it, one must have a low opinion of Nintendo to jump to that immediate conclusion, so your theory is probably correct.

That is still BS. So there is no online porn in Germany before 11pm?

I think that the parental controls on the console are sufficient.

If they fix the issue int he future it is further proof they failed now.

And you know this how?   Do you know if they do or do not have contracts in the works for German authorized age gate services like Verify-U?
Do you know if they plan on opening a subsidiary somewhere else to bypass this issue but simply didn't have the time or resources to do both (an HQ move or establish a subsidiary and a console launch) at the same time.

We don't know all the facts here.  So it's not a good idea to just go laying all fault on Nintendo until you do.  Otherwise, you just look like a hater.

Criss's post misses the specifics of the laws themselves.  Nintendo still has to abide by the laws of each coutnry it sells products in so Uk laws are still in play too.   It's not exclusive to just German laws applying elsewhere whereas UK law would not.

They are sufficient but Germany doen't like leaving those kinds of things up to parents.

This law comes from the "Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons.  Yep, that's a real department in Germany.

the problem is that most parents don't care or even if they care they can't control what the kid is doing the whole day so most of them just don't do it, or why are more people in games rated 18+ younger as 18 when i play online?

so you see, if you like it or not how it's handled in germany (i don't like it) but most parents are just useless for this and if a state really believes that it is a big problem if kids use such media and that those grow to killers or whatever shit it doesn't help those kids that parents could do something because most just don't, most let their kids watch and play what they want. parental control works for the minority.

and in germany it is the "federal department for family, seniors and youth" that "department for media harmful to young persons" is to control it but not where the law comes from.
