Sony is having financial troubles, they can't afford to give PS3 another price cut, but Microsoft can cut the price on the 360. |
Microsoft has already been able to say that since they released a year ahead
Ps3 has shown to be a month behind 360 in shipments and I believe Sony will ship more units in 4th quarter than 360 for the third time since 2009. At the latest I say the ps3 surpasses 360 in June.
Mid 2013, while ps3 is still releasing huge games and 360 has nothing planned.

I think the PS3 can definitely overtake the 360 somewhere in the second half of 2013. Ni No Kuni, Tales of Xillia, The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, Dust 514, Final Fantasy XIV, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, and Puppeteer. The PS3 has a super strong (and diverse, most importantly) 2013 lineup. These games will definitely help sell a lot of PS3's. And if Final Fantasy Versus XIII, The Last Guardian, and Tales of Xillia 2 come out late 2013, the PS3 will be ahead for good.
Unless Sony meets the marketing levels of Microsoft they will never pull that off this gen and its pretty much over at this point to care. Give it up, theres always next year. No one is perfect.
I forgot to mention that Until Dawn, MLB 13: The Show, Atelier Ayesha, and God of War: Ascension will be out for the PS3 in 2013. Gah, so many PS3 exclusives!! Also, other than Gears and a few other major titles like Bioshock: Liberation, the 360's 2013 lineup is incredibly weak and porous.
Where is the option for perm 2013? You actually think PS3 won't permanently overtake it next year?
