1. GTA4 - bought my ps3 for this game and it was a sore disappointment. Still havent finished it in fact.

in terms of actual hype leading up to it. cant beat final fantasy 13.
in terms of satisfaction cant beat mass effect 2 and 3

It has to be Brawl. The Smash Dojo was the perfect game hyping tool. It was updated everyday with either a character, a final smash, an item, a stage, a gameplay mechanic, etc...

Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2. I went nuts for FFXIII.

Mass Effect 3 and Halo 4.

Both games lived up to the hype and in my opinion exceeded it.

Halo 4 is my favorite game of this generation and the Mass Effect trilogy is right up there with it.
