i have no idea. looks like i was worried bout nothing, though with a big exclusive, PS3 likely would have sold more.

Anyway that's a good question... whitch exclusive moved hardware in US???

Japan had Final Fantasy, others JRPG, MGS4 and One Piece.
Europe had Gran Turismo 5.

But US? I can't remember any hardware seller exclusive... the last time the sales exploded in US was because the Slim launch (2009) and not a exclusive game.

Wait.

You mean Sony sold less PS3 the last year?

That is strange, why did it so bad in 2011? (Since as far as I remember, there wasn't any big game for 360)

I knew ps3 was going to get nice sales over black friday when one of my friends finally got one with ACIII. I was like...now I've seen everything. lol

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

Well more people in the US own 360 so I guess there isn't much people left who don't have own one that want one. The ps3 a much smaller install base in US there are probably still alot of people that want a ps3.

It's not a BIG exclusive. It's a MODERATE exclusive. Gran Turismo, God of War and Uncharted are big, PSASBR isn't. See mine and Rols threads to find out why...

In the Black Friday week PS3 is up... in the rest of the year PS3 is down.

PS3 sales including hardware, software and peripherals, grew 9%" not the hardware sales only.

so i guess the real question is; why was ps move sales up 9000%?

I'm mystified by what the PS3 has been able to accomplish this year. It should have been a horrible year when you consider that it was one of the worst for AAA exclusives, especially given that the 360 had the one-two punch of Halo 4 and CoD.

I think those who believe the brand to be in a serious state of decline are wrong. Sony made so many mistakes early in this generation; that people are still buying Playstations tells me that the support and recognition are still there. People still want what the Playstation name brings to the table--if they're honest with themselves, that is.

I voted for the "multiple factors" choice. Cheaper price, great value-added bundles, better advertising, PS+, hype over upcoming games, and the fact that it's built such a varied library of games all help to keep the PS3 on people's minds.

The 360 has had a fantastic life-cycle, don't get me wrong, but I think it's main weakness is the PS3's strength, which is the sheer number of exclusives that have accumulated over the years. That's a factor that really comes into play on the back end of the life-cycle. I believe it's the reason why the PS3 is so popular as "the second console".

Ah, the conveyor of truth! Could it be that the game is massively undertracked too? Would certainly be interesting...lol

It probably dd ~200k in the US this week. Also, it was $25 cheaper on PSN than it was in stores, so digital sales are probably high.
