If that's what a developer want to do that can't quite grasp how to make a ps3 game look great strait from the disk sure why not. In 5 years you'll be having this debate against ps4 and nextbox. Not the ps3 and then it will look quite sad on the wii U's part.

Want to see a fair comparison? lensoftruth is the better site. DF has been know to do some doggy stuff over the years. While I like the lighting a bit better on the Wii U version the textures are lacking and looks washed out at times when compared the the ps3 version. Said thing is if the wii u was really that much better they would have made something closers to the pc version and they didn't. So that's telling right there.

If people do go and buy a Wii U because of this interview, I could see quite a few of them being disappointed by the graphics and controller's wireless distance claims. As far as the PR excuse goes, there's a difference between praising your product and maybe downplaying the opposition to straight up lying to the customer.

if you listen from 3:05 to 3:50 on the video you'll see he is talking about people using it every day, and everyone in the "household"  (people who "hold" the house - eg. people who live in it) using the media features such has netflix ect. So not just people who play the actual games.  

Even the poll on your site says that the PS3 version is dead last and the PS3 pictures look like some pissed on the camera lense. Look at the close ups of that african general, especially his beard and the buttons on his uniform. It's all a blurry mess.

We are seeing two different things. And polls can't be trused. So i wouln't pay attention to that. Look at his face, notice half the detail is missing from his face, both the genral and the other guy. It's a mixed bag really. But hey i'm not the one arguring that the Wii U looks so much better.
