Followed this and ....now im really disappointed. Ive found the thread on the official plyastation forum. Ppl experience the same problem as me. I've invested on this new model cause i thought by now those problems would be eclipsed... After 6 years and still hardware falls short? I mean isnt supposed Ps3 production to be more "stable" by now?

I was reading a thread about this from October. Some say it has to do with poor quality HDD but others say it is related to the 4.30 update and that the 4.31 update fixed many of the problems. I'm not sure what to say myself, even though I just bought a new PS3 I haven't used it enough to notice any issues.

This.  Nobody is criticizing the console just for the sake of hating on it; while I'm sure there are plenty of super-slims that work without incident, there also seems to be quite a few that have issues... things that weren't mass complaints about the original or the first "slim".

Here is a video from RTU, and while I'm not condoning calling this model "crap" or "garbage", one thing that I wholeheartedly agree with in this video is the fact that the super-slim is a huge step backward for the PS3.

I've never played a game on one so I can't say that I've witnessed the performance problems first hand, but I have had hands-on with the console and personally I don't like the design and it gives the impression that it's a bit cheaply made (my opinion).  And no, I'm not a hater; I have a PS3 "fat" and I absolutely love its quality build, beautiful aesthetic design and great performance.

Jeez. If it's bad playing Uncharted, imagine playing Skyrim on that thing.

Tbh i dont give a rat about the design of the new ps3. I love the practical side of it though, being super small and super light. I got it to play games on it. I look at my tv while playing and not the design of the machine... Anyway everyone has his taste in aesthetics.

What i want to be convinced, is the "internal" quality of it... Im waiting for monday so i can call tech support and hear an official statement about it. I wanna be convinced if my ps3 is faulty out of the box or if its a general matter with this new model( 500gb stock HDD). Some more opinions will help!

If this is true, I can really see this really hurting the Sony brand. I just bought the $200 dollar bundle, and I hope that it's okay. Oh well, I could just send it back if there is a problem with it.

mmm...so it is something like the PS2 slim? It had some problems running some PS2 game including Tekken 5, etc.

Ppl that got their newly ps3 super slim 500gb bundles due to black friday, experience the same problem!
