Didn't we get a thread last year showing how MW3 was proof that CoD is in decline because it was very frontloaded and had less legs than blops?
I think we should judge this game and the franchise in a couple of months and see for ourselves if this franchise is in decline or not

I have to say that Halo 4 may have stolen some sales. Off topic, but I want to post it!

Black ops 2 isn't like the other Call of Duty titles. I've played nearly all of them, and I hated every one after Call of Duty 4. However, Black Ops 2 doesn't even feel like CoD. The campaign is great, and it even has different endings! the multiplayer isn't its best feature, but it has improved since MW3. Zombies is the package. Tranzit is the greatest thing I've ever played related to Call of Duty, and grief adds a new competitive feel to it. I honestly can say that, I love this CoD. Treyarch done right.

This is just how Activision rolls. They beat Tony Hawk into our faces until no one wanted it. Then Guitar Hero. Now Call of Duty.

I run a classic games store and it 3 or 4 years when I start accepting PS3 and Xbox360 games, I'm gonna have an army of people yelling at me because I say "COD is worthless to collectors. I'll give you $0.50 for each one." And they're going to bark back, "But I spent $400.00 on these when they were new!!! You Dick!!" Stupid Activision making my life difficult.

I highly doubt that, game sales have been lower then expected for other games this year..

So when even COD goes down that means likely people are buying fewer games overall...

Nonetheless its on Par with BO and BO sold about 95% of MW3 overall..

So expect the same..

h3 released years before mw3, why should this have taken sales from cod? some people didn't buy blops 2 because halo released one week before and they prefer halo. i think that's what he wanted to say. same goes vice versa with halo 4, some who normally buy both games probably didn't buy h4 because they prefer cod and knew it doesn't make sense to buy two games in two weeks for multiplayer. there has to be a much bigger timeframe between such games for people who buy them to play online.

I don't think there is much to worry about.

it opened to around BO sales and BO sold around 95% of MW3 in the end.

Regardless, it is still one of the best, if not the best game of the series.

Decent campaign, great fun with zombies and a really good online multiplayer.

Likley it will have way better legs then MW3 as well.

xbox version had a huge drop, i have a feeling the ps3 version of black ops 2 might get close to the 360 one
