Forums - Nintendo - Walmart and Nintendo shall pay.

I am pretty misdirected with my logic at times. I went to walmart to preorder a Wii U durring the the time they had it. The one closest to me did not have any left so they called one that was rather far away. Not wanting to drive I did it anyway. After burning a decent amount of fuel to go to a wal mart that I didn't even know exsisted I get there and they tell me they don't have it.

At that point I am already pissed at Wal-Mart. They wont pay for my gas for their employees being asshats and it would be stupid to even complain. They wont do anything about it.

I stand in line early for a chance at the Wii U tonight and guess how many non pre-order Wii U's Nintendo decides to ship to it. 6. So after wasting my time with Wal-Mart and the Wii U I am pissed.

Instead of being an angry person that does nothing with it I direct my anger effectivly. Starting from today I will not buy anything Nintendo at new price, I wont buy the Wii U new (used craigslist) and I will never go to Wal-Mart again. Since I am a fair man I will give both Wal-Mart and Nintendo a chance. If they bring a Wii U to my door for full retail price and Wal-Mart apologizes to me for wasting my gas I will retract my statement, untill then neither gets a dime from me.

This may seem silly but I assure you that costing them both money (which over time will add up to thousands) is my backwards logic way of making them both pay for causing me discomfort.

How is that Nintendo's fault? o_O; sounds like straight up Walmart problem lol. Oh and I checked with the Gamestops around my area just for shits and giggles, they only have like 2-4 extras per store, so Walmart actually has more lol.

Well then it's Nintendos fault for shipping such a pathetic amount. I was the 7th person in line and the last. Almost no one was there and I still got nothing.

It will go like this. Someone will say it's not so and so companies fault this happened. Then I will say well I always buy things new and stay loyal and shop repeadtly at the same places because thats how I am. Then they will say that it does not matter you didn't get in line in time. I will end this back and forth with the simple statement that if my years of dedication to so and so company does not matter then they will never get my money again.

SOrry to hear that bro, try toys r us

It does not flow well but you understand my points.

The walmart I went to had like over 20 non-preordered ones. however they did a layaway and had only four left. Me and my brother each got one. So we have two Wii U's.

According to a report from GameStop, Nintendo will have shipped more Wii U's for launch than any other console before it by a wide margin.

It's not that they shipped a pathetic amount, it's that pre-orders ate up 95% of all units.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

I completely understand you being pissed... I would be too. But you have to realize that there are a lot of people clamoring for this system at launch, particularly now for the holidays. Nintendo can't just magically pull more out of thin air. Despite some of the silly theories you may hear on the internet, Nintendo is not purposely withholding units; they're shipping everything they can, as they would love nothing more than to build up as big of an install base as fast as possible. The more they sell, the more games they sell - and the more profit they turn.

If Walmart was taking more pre-orders than they could fulfill then that's their fault. But it really just sounds like the reality of WiiU's popularity this holiday and demand outweighing supply.
