By your logic, everything should be increased to the maximum price consumers are willing to pay in order for everyone to "win."
The truth is that he is stepping in as a middle man, offering no extra value to the product, and is merely seeking to take scarce items away from the economy only to reintroduce them at higher price points so he can take advantage of people's willingness to pay. This can be seen as a moral issue for many people - but clearly not for all.
Next time you want to use your limited knowledge of economics, remember that utility is what you gain from a product or service, not what you are willing to spend. You worded it incorrectly.
