Forums - Nintendo - Should I sell a Wii U on e-bay?

Well I'm seriously thinking about it. I'm going to be very tempted to do so with my ZombiU bundle if they're going on eBay for twice what I paid for it. It'll be like buy one get one free lol. The only two things that might stop me are that I'm seriously hyped for ZombiU and that you couldn't buy a Wii for love nor money for the first 18 months of its life. :o/

Morally I don't have a problem with it if people are stupid enough to pay way over-the-odds for one.

I bet allmost all the wiiu that willbe sold will be sold on ebay.

If you want to waste your time on e-bay selling a wii-u for a profit of 6 dollars, you go right ahead. By the time you charge a higher price, a taxes, and give e-bay a cut from the sale, you wouldn't end up with an amount that would be worth your time, unless you were selling thousands of them..

There's going to be other sellers that got theirs cheaper than retail, or free, that will be selling much lower, and faster. The more time that goes by, the less likely you are to sell an over-priced console. Most people would wait before paying 10-60 dollars extra on a console. People go to e-bay for deals, not to pay more for the same item they can get at the store if they wait long enough.

Screw morals. Money itself is immoral, yet it's something we all have to have, because that's the way the system works. We all know today's money isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I'd be getting mine at cheaper than retail. Also, if they are going at greater than 2 times the amount on ebay that the Wii went for than the cut would be greater than 6 dollars. And most people would wait to buy an extra console rather than pay an extra 10 dollars. But I wouldn't be targeting those people. I would be targeting the people who would gladly pay 2 times as much for it to be one of the first to have it.

As for the ones who say I should keep it... I wouldn't get ANY play time with it whatsoever. My next semester class schedual is M-F 8am - 7pm.

If you look on ebay now at just the receipts going on sale, most are already 50-100 dollars above the msrp.  Youll make out if you get one

Its all about timing for this one. I have 2 Wii U, and I'm planning to ebay one. I was going to ebay the White one (because the black one is awesome), but there is currently very little interest in the white one on ebay. Black ones are selling for 50-100 over retail, but white ones are getting any bids at all. So if I want the money, I may have to end up selling the one I want to keep.

We shall see closer to time. I think when Black Friday rolls around and almost nobody is able to get their hands on one, there will be a huge increase in the ebay value. Or the reverse could happen, and Nintendo actually have allocated enough to meet demand, causing ebay prices to drop below retail.

I sure hope not though. I'm counting on at least 100 dollars profit to pay the holiday bills.

Thank you train wreck and crono. I didn't think about checking e-bay because it I didn't think people would have one before release. I work at 4am on it's release day. Hopefully I can go on lunch and buy one before they are all gone. I think I counted 20 at my store.
