Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Animal Crossing New Leaf Sold Out, Over 200k in Digital Sales!

If 800k is confirmed in a few more source and 600k tracked by vgchartz tooo I will be really impressed.

Switch!!!

If that 25% digital sales rate remains, Nintendo will be extremely happy.

As it is, they won't replicate that in the US, and definitely not in Europe. Most 3DS games are £30 new at retail, yet are priced at £40 on the eShop. I would happily pay £30 to be able to keep Animal Crossing on my 3DS memory, but £10 more than a retail copy makes that price extremely unappealing. If Nintendo want better digital results in Europe, they need to lower the prices of their retail offerings.

Just Europe then because games in USA are 39.99 retail and 39.99 download.

I don't expect the digital sales rate to hold that high, since I suspect many were "forced" to download it because they couldn't find it at the store.

Animal Crossing is a good game to always have on your system though.  Single player games aren't really that great to have as digital copies but games that involve online multiplayer such as Animal Crossing and MK7 make more sense to me.  I am buying the digital copy of this even though I like physical copies more.

Yeah, it'll continue to sell well digitally I'm sure, but not 25% of the totals I don't think.

Yep, probably end up around 15-20% digital would be my guess.  10% would be a pretty conservative number.

That's good news. I honestly can't wait until US release. If the download size isn't too large, I will probably go digital.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

So was Animal Crossing always a big seller in Japan, or was the hype for New Leaf huge there???
I had no idea Animal Crossing was this popular...

Have a nice day...

First is NA, Second is Europe, third is Japan (bold), fourth is others, and fifth is world wide.  I'm a little surprised AC:WW didn't sell as much in North America.
