Forums - Sales Discussion - The PS3/Xbox 360 Holiday Sales Gap Thread! (Updated: January 11th) - ADJUSTMENTS! Last week is UP!, PS3 and X360 basically back to where the table began, PS3 1.5 million sold more then X360 in 2012

So, let's hear some predictions, then! That'll make it more interesting.

VGChartz' best predicters predicted an average of 581k in favour of the 360 in the 10 week countdown. Personally, I was a bit slimmer with a 355k advantage to the 360. Some predicted as high as 1580k in favour of the 360, while others went with the extreme opposite and said a million pro the Ps3.

Ooooh, oooh that was me! I applied average weekly sales of total console growth from last year to this year for each product. I suppose I should have applied each products individual last years growth but I was too lazy and already had the console average numbers up. It's what I use in my Vita sales prediction thread.

Basically it limited the consoles to sell quanities related to their current weekly sales, rather than an expected increase for a specific product. Accurate no, insane maybe.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Tagehgbged.

By the end of the year the X360 will be 1.3m units higher than the PS3...meaning the total gap will be ~3m.

This table is fine though it should have started weeks ago because ioi says that European shoppers start buying for the holidays earlier than North American shoppers. This is seen in the bigger sales on many of the platforms in Europe several weeks back.

Sorry to disappoint some Xbox fans, but there is no COD BO2 bundle in USA. Halo 4 is the only bundled game and I don't see how will this boost sales since any one who likes to play Halo already owned an xbox in the past 7 years.

what a pretty thread gilgamesh, microsoft king of the holiday home consoles this year,do brand new consoles kick arse,it's been a while i forget

Both just might have their worse holidays ever.

These consoles are dead and MS and Sony need to both act fast. MS needs a drastic price cut by 100 dollars. They could easiky afford it and it would boost hardware sales a lot.

But they wont do that

Is this the first time since 2009 PS3 gets in the lead?

My favorite 2 months of the year and my favourite thread every year! :D

Next week is Halo 4 bundles. Week after is Cod bundles. Then Black Friday?

Just gonna sit back with a smile on my face.

There. Are. No. Call. Of. Duty. Bundles. This. Year.

There may be some random bundles in some foreign country, but there aren't any in America, where it could actually make a difference for Xbox 360.

No, they're not dead. You know what dead looks like? Take a look at the DS and PSP.

A price cut is the last thing Sony needs to do right now. Next-gen is about to start and they need to maximise profits on the PS3.
Xbox 360 doesn't need a price cut since its been leading in America for the past 22 months.

Next Gen consoles are needed though. Wii U will sell like hotcakes.

Nice.

PS3 will sell equal or a little over 360 this year.
