You're looking like a casual elitist, not a hardcore.
Hardcore doesn't mean "mature" and bloody games. For exemple, Pikmin can be a hardcore game, CoD can't.
We need moar Zelda, now!
We need moar Unchartedzz!
We need less DLCs.

All the games that use the gamepad can use the pro controller so far. I don't expect that to change.
All those games genres you listed are and will also be on Wii U.
Basically, I really don't see what you're talking about as a concern. However, if you don't see interest in Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Bayonetta2, Metroid, Rayman, ZombiU, and likely other exclusives... then stick to PS.
Not that I cant stand them, merely moved on. I still respect what they do.
U, my friend, are very confused.... U want RPGs? Well, seems that 3DS is the way to go (speaking of "old school" RPGs, as u claimed). I don't really see ur complaints? 3rd party support? If u ask me, Wiii had a really alternative yet interesting support, I can't understand how ppl never got to play Dead Space Extraction just because it wasn't a 3rd Person Shooter... Wiii and DS had some incredible games! Heck, DS has the most retro RPG experiences!!!

Nintendo looks like they have learned from some of their mistakes for the Wii U, but still I was expecting a console more powerful than the current gen. I'd be very surprised if the Wii U has a game equal or above some of the best that the 360 (halo 4, gears 3) and the ps3 (uncharted 3, MGS4, Heavy Rain) have to offer visually speaking. Again this thread was not meant to bash Nintendo. Maybe I should have worded it differently haha. I guess I'm just annoyed that Nintendo doesn't think much of the old school/core gamer. Then again, it's not like they really need to when you outsell the entire competition hahahaa. |
How would you define old-school/core gamer? And what is a hardcore game?
I hate to put words in your mouth, but it seems like a hardcore game is a game that you like.

Exactly.
34 years playing games.
Thread created by someone called ps3-sales! He mentions owning a 360 yet then goes on to claim nintendo screwed him over. Jokes aside I will tell you what I think.
All companies are out to make money. You might feel that they don't care about you but that is because they don't. As far as nintendo and microsoft are concerned 'innovative' controllers are the future of gaming. Casuals are where the majority of the money is at with hardware. Therefore they 'serve' them and hope 'hardcore' gamers sit back and take it.
I don't think wii u will have the problem wii had because touch screen has been proven to be accepted by the core market. Right now I am thinking microsoft is the one that faces the backlash.
One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D
I loved the GameCube, but I hated the Wii. Motion controls suck.
My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Thank you. I could not even past this sentence:
"However, as a hardcore gamer, I feel that Nintendo just flat out does not care about me anymore."
This disgusting journalism this generation has corrupted the minds of millions youngsters
Well you do know Mario has a gun built in his hands......Its just that Nintendo keeps it a secret.
