I have about 15 I'd guess. With the advent of HD streaming options, I buy much fewer movies than I used to though.

By the way, I have an Oppo blu-ray player, that I absolutely love. Highly recommended.

I have like 5, but I mostly just borrow blu ray movies.

I just did a quick count, about 250, counting box sets as one.
And between 2 and 3 times as many dvds judging by the shelf space, I didn't bother to count them.
Plus 2 moving boxes with Laserdiscs which I haven't touched since the player broke :/

I've only bought 1 3D blu-ray, then I checked out a few 3D tvs in different stores and walked away with a headache and/or general disappointment in the picture quality every time, so I figured screw that. I'll wait for 4K instead.

I use the ps3 as a player, Yamaha RX-V3800 amp, B&W FPM5 x 5, B&W PV1 sub, Panasonic PT-AE1000U 1080p projector with 92" screen. Picture and sound quality are amazing.

Have you seen these Ghibli blu rays? They're so gorgeous but I can't justify spending so much on them..and I feel if I buy one I have to buy the whole set..

Argh, I have now... And I'm trying to cut down on my movie buying habit :/
I've already been buying these blu-ray versions

Nada.
I don't even have that many DVDs... Just bought Fifth Element, Cloverfield and District 9 DVDs 2nd hand for £4 which brings my DVD disc total to about 50, but almost half of those are extra feature discs (e.g I have a Matrix collection with 10 discs, but only 4 of them interest me)

OK just counted... I have 23 films on DVD, and 8 DVD cases for TV series (most of which the main content covers 2 DVDs)
And 4 VHS... though not sure why as we don't have a VHS player in the house anymore.

I didn't know the first Matrix movie spanned four discs!!!

I don't even own a bluray player. I use Netflix and Redbox (along with Hulu but not really using it that much right now due to Daily Show and Colbert Report being on a break) combo for my movie / tv watching needs. I don't even have cable due to it being overpriced and full of commercials.

That is so nice! Ghibli blurays are region free right?

Only the Japan release is for all regions...hence the ridiculous prices....
