A big reason why he is able to fool, or at least able to sow doubt in a fair amount of people is because many forum members have below average social skills and understanding of psychology. And because we have this need for shock and sensation and to hear other people's misery (and feel better about ourselves).

Apparently someone by the name of Minami pulled a similar stunt a bit before this guy, and many people thought it was a troll until he actually got arrested. I'm not saying this is the same scenario, though. I really loved the comments that the other "go for it, man! She loves you!" trolls were doing. :P

I think most reasonable people have probably had moments where they were "socially-tarded" and people who are self aware enough have also wondered if they would really know if they were a "social-tard" ... In fact, I think being aware of moments when you weren't at your best and questioning whether you would know if you had social problems is likely a sign that you're fine.

With that said, if you really want to go into the deep end of social disfunction google "chris chan" ... I don't approve of the trolling/bullying he has experienced over many years but his problems do put anything you experience in normal life into perspective.
