Usually when someone get's their heart broken they become a little obsessive for a few days or weeks, and I suspect most stalkers have this kind of creepy obsession constantly.

I feel I'm being stalkerish if I text someone 3 times, and don't hear back from them. Even if they are a good friend!

As much as I believe it, and think there is some truth to it. The 600 emails and 10 hours at Mom's house are just too exaggerated to believe. Master troll work - but I think some exaggerated, but wouldn't be surprise if he's a bit like that in real life.

That's not master troll work, it was quite poor troll work.

A big reason why he is able to fool, or at least able to sow doubt in a fair amount of people is because many forum members have below average social skills and understanding of psychology. And because we have this need for shock and sensation and to hear other people's misery (and feel better about ourselves).

Okay, that was probably the funniest half an hour I've ever wasted online.
That said, as someone who's really awkward and lacking in social experience, this is frightening, if not outright mentally distressing. I mean, who's to say that I'm not in the same situation as him? I'm perfectly capable of misinterpreting signals and get the wrong idea from what people say. Sure, I think I'm in nowhere near as bad a situation as he's in, but that's just it. He also thinks he's "normal" when he evidently isn't. And when people say he's crazy, he seems to think they're just being mean, while when they are jokingly nice to him, he takes it seriously. What if I'm actually creepy myself and all of my friends are just humoring me?
Oh, Lord, I can't believe I'm letting this get into my head, :O...
