That said, as someone who's really awkward and lacking in social experience, this is frightening, if not outright mentally distressing. I mean, who's to say that I'm not in the same situation as him? I'm perfectly capable of misinterpreting signals and get the wrong idea from what people say. Sure, I think I'm in nowhere near as bad a situation as he's in, but that's just it. He also thinks he's "normal" when he evidently isn't. And when people say he's crazy, he seems to think they're just being mean, while when they are jokingly nice to him, he takes it seriously. What if I'm actually creepy myself and all of my friends are just humoring me?
Oh, Lord, I can't believe I'm letting this get into my head, :O...

I think that it's easy to look at others' relationships and diagnose them, but harder to do so with ourselves. That's just the way of things.
