why don't you block 'regular' attacks instead? :S

Barely works because everyone is mashing attacks becasue they all want they're damned specials and if you try dodging you'll probably get hit any way.

every impression i've heard this is exactly what makes it PSASBR fun.  in SSB you can just sit back and let other people do the work and just sort of float in at the right moment to get the kill.  i cannot begin to describe the number for terrible SSB matches i've played 'cause literally everyone just played defense.

Since PSASBR requires supers to get kills and it requires you to do damage to get supers ... everyone is forced to play agressively not defensively.

i can't say for sure as i haven't actually played it but from the complaint about ledge grabs to complaint about dodging it would seem to me you were expecting SSB, you wanted SSB, and now your disappointed because PSASBR isn't actually the SSB clone everyone is crying about...

Sounds terrible. This game better get a 50 on metacritic if it does not fix these issues. I was going to buy this game for sure, but now I am not so sure.

Interesting concept, In SSB defense is a pre-emptive strategy, but in PSASBR it is secondary because you only need to go on the defensive once someone has super. As in the match starts out full offense and then switches to opportunities of defense until it is safe to go back into offense.

In SSB it did seem you could be penalized for offensive tactics, as in placing yourself into danger to do damage. Sometimes it worked out, sometimes it didn't. Opportunity to avoid damage by staying out of the action, usually paid off...until other caught on and teamed up against you...which is kind of lame. SSB is a great game though and I don't see any reason PSASBR won't be.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

oo. May be it is not your type of game. I have heard many praises about this game so far.

Well my opinion is amde from gameplay videos i saw from evo, e3 and when it was announced.
They wont make doge easier, and the dodge mechanic doest look that wrong to me, rather is the incredibly fast start ups and active frames the special have wich make them almost unavoidable in a serious player. if they make them more avoidable, the mathces will become too long since it will be very rare whoever kill someone. They need their supers to hit since the game is based around it only.
I agree with the camera angles, but they might just make the characters a little bigger also in some scenarie's like goW/patapon it will be annoying getting offfocused of camera each minute hades make an attack.

The game requires only agressive play, any chance for other kind of startegies is pretty much useless, wich will get monotonus since only mid range characters like kratos seem to control the flow of the game and large range characters alwasy end up last since they cant zone well.
Anyway as a question:

Is there weight-shift while falling?

Sometimes I used to annoy my friends on SSB melee by playing Peach on Hyrule and just constantly running away the whole bloody match.  It was only after they'd all KO'd each other about 4 times each that they'd notice I was still going and start hunting me down.  And then we'd have matches later where everybody tried to play defensively and ran away.

So yes, I completely agree with what you're saying.  Being forced to play offensively is going to be a lot more interesting dynamic.

I disagree, having only one tactic make the game less dynamic and boils the game down to a boring metagame later in it's lifespan. And runa away it's not playing defensively. It's just that runnign away and gets punished very easily, even more on melee.

Does it?  Whenever I've played Melee against my friends, or even against higher level AI, I can run away for the majority of the match if I want to.  Certainly until they get bored/ the AI switches onto someone else.

Perhaps it's different on Brawl because I've not played that in about a year, but on Melee it's very achievable.

Pretty much for the vast majority of the match you MUST play offensively, which makes the player have shallow strategies.
