It may be shallow, but perhaps it is more balanced? I wouldn't really call SSB being diverse in strategy to compare, it's either stay out of the action or be in the action. In PS All Stars its either be in the action avoid the action. Kind of similar without the brawler equivelent of camping. Are you a camper in SSB?

This is a bad analogy.

Really? It's a comparison. Slightly different, mostly the same, highlighting that it isn't a worse game than SSB. I underlined the portion that clarifies why you shouldn't have made your post.

It's very generalized, most mp games that crown a winner based on the last one alive would fit the description also you said "strategy" of the game something wich i found in smb overall more dynamic since they way to ringout an oponent is more diverse than rush to get a super.

It's more than rushing to get a super. Not only do you need to attack at a better rate than others(dodging, landing hits), you need to prevent becoming the victim of a super, use your attacks that reduce their super meter, and time your own supers to maximize kills. It's not a last one alive game, it's a who can kill the most (at least the main mode is). There are three super levels which add to the dynamic of your strategy. Would it be better to save super for larger attacks or will you create situations where lesser supers provide a good number of kills. You could utilize supers as soon as you get them to hack away at the competition. You could even attack players that are more likely to have an advantage if gone unchecked, similar to smash brothers for players that have more lives, which is the most commonly played mode right? I'd assume PSASBR has a mode were you have lives as well as opposed to whoever gets the most kills mode.

The game seems just as complex as its comparible game title.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

But that's the thing, it's "rush down" the strategie, and you even say it, the focus is attack at a fast rate to fill a super bar and that's pretty much the only way to win. Also the 3 levels of super could have been a good adition if you werent forced to use the actual level of the super, it's restricting and limit's even way more your number of kills. dodgin and landing hits are a must in fighting games, but smash just allows more freedom by not been totally dependant of a fixiated damage to ensure a kill.

The same could be said of SSB that the only way to win is to attack once someon's percentage is high. That game is entirely dependant on that. It all depends on how you get there. In PSASBR it's about building power through damage and landing supers, in SSB it's about doing damage and knocking out. In no way does either game hold an advanage on strategy or complexity.

You could kill more with a level 1 super than you can with a level 3 super if the timing is right.

but i does, i could raise the damage to 150 and still not knock out the oponent if i dont land the right hit in the right place like with happens with characters with very good recover. I could even knock out people at 30 preventing them from recover or spiking them like mny on melee did in the competitive scene. If we translate PSASBR to SMBit would mean i could only kill when you reach the 100 and just by knocking them to a side making it a more "shallow" experience. Smb is less dependant of damage than the other with it's super system

Also part of what i told you about the super system, forced to use the actual level of super means that there will be a point where i would need to take myself out of the action if i want to use the lv1 to kill more than one opponent, waiting for a opportunity to come rather than making the situation happen.

That depends on what type of attack you use on the oppenent at 150. Some hits are entirely successful at certain percentages. I understand what you mean about the super but that doesn't avoid that fact that you still have to use skill in order to hit the characters. It is just as strategic to know how to utilize a super as it is to know how hard to hit a SSB character. You can't treat supers like that are unavoidable or that you can't miss with them. PSASBR does not translate to SSB in terms of damage at all. In PSASBR it is important to hit your target as you only get one shot. In SSB you can miss someone with high damage percentage and still have the opportunity to attack a second, third, or fourth time. In defense I could say SSB is like PSASBR but I can use supers as many times as I want.

Interesting concept, In SSB defense is a pre-emptive strategy, but in PSASBR it is secondary because you only need to go on the defensive once someone has super. As in the match starts out full offense and then switches to opportunities of defense until it is safe to go back into offense.

In SSB it did seem you could be penalized for offensive tactics, as in placing yourself into danger to do damage. Sometimes it worked out, sometimes it didn't. Opportunity to avoid damage by staying out of the action, usually paid off...until other caught on and teamed up against you...which is kind of lame. SSB is a great game though and I don't see any reason PSASBR won't be.

Pretty much for the vast majority of the match you MUST play offensively, which makes the player have shallow strategies.

You're serious? There are so many strategies I use in SSB, if I had to count there would be at LEAST 5 major strategies I use with Link and that's only one character. And you can't camp in a 1v1 on a balanced/nice sized map, and we can't judge 1v1s in All Stars yet sadly because we only have free for all.

Side note to everyone I just got home from my friends house and finished playing over 5 hours of this game and my opinion remains the same, along with 2 of my friends whom of which were with me.

There is no reason to rule PSASBR and not being just as diverse in strategy. Characters use different attacks, their supers are different. Some have more defensive moves, some more offensive move. Close range and far range. Some of the maps might not be as big as the ones in the beta. It's understandable to use SSB as the standard comparison for this game, it's a great game and PSASBR seem to hold a candle to it.

Just wondering what would those 5 strategies be?

I will wait until I get in the beta to judge this. I don't expect much from the game honestly. but if it is half as good as smash bros then it will be good.
super smash is probably the only game on the wii I consider good.

Hey man speaking of how characters have different attacks, lets look at Radec he has longed range attacks of which may be defensive yes? No, me and others online all had no choice, but to get in there and try mash our way to success mainly with his sniper rifle. Then there's Sweet Tooth close range and powerful? Yes, exactly lol. Point is the beta seems to do things right, but not entirely.

And no I won't explain how I play with Link in SSB, I mastered the character and I won't teach what I've learned lol, of course if we faced each other you may learn after hundreds of matches, but I can't seem to NOT lag in online SSB sadly ='(
