Forums - Movies & TV - So did you enjoy Brave?

I became a big fan of Pixar after Wall-E and Up, and I wanted to love Brave but it wasn't that great. It didn't have that emotional toll on me that the two other movies i mentioned, looked great but secretly I wanted the movie to be over.

Also, while I remember I need to give a shout out to a movie called The Secret of Kells.

The movie came out in 2009 and was completely under the radar, but it did get a nomination for Best Animated Picture. Really, really great animation (reminds me of Genndy Tartakovsky) and heart. Check it out guys. It's great.

I was disappointed by it. After not having a pixar movie last year(Cars 2 I refused to watch) I expected a classic like the previous 3 movie's. But it was far from that. I think its just an average movie, and I suspect Ice age 4 may be a better movie.

As well I agree with morenoingrato Finding Nemo is highly overrated. I would put it at the bottom of my pixar movie list.

The movie was just ok. It did not feel like a Pixar movie. It was predictable, cliche, and (SPOILERS) the idea of the mom turning into a bear so she and Merida could reconcile was very lazy. I don't see why the filmmakers couldn't have had them solve their problems in a real way rather than use some cheap gimmick.

I liked it. Again, it had some flaws and a couple of plot holes that I can't remember off the top of my head but I enjoyed it a lot. Hope it made a lot of money.

I think last time I checked it made around 179 Mill? I'm not totally sure but that sounds alright for a Pixar film. They usually do really good. (Especially Toy Story.)

That's probably domestic sales not worldwide sales. Would be much higher. The problem I have when looking up movie revenue is the failure of many sites to differentiate between Domestic and Worldwide sales. They act as if USA=World. It's sickening.

In some cases the USA does decide if the movie is a fail or not. Some movies are only really popular in the US so it's all depending on if we like it.

Box Office Mojo. Great site for box office revenue, both domestic and worldwide.

Well, I'd say in more cases, they make more money through foreign sales then solely domestic sales(which is understandable because the world is much bigger than the US. In fact, looking at the website that other person provided, it solidifies my assumption.
