Forums - Sony Discussion - Can Sony be saved? Stock near 32-year low.

No, they're d0med. About time someone took the pressure off Nintendo though, they have a console launch to attend to.

No, abandon ship.

Who cares? This is only of interest to people playing the stock market game.

The question is: Is this company making a profit? Yes, great they are here to stay. No, they are in potencial trouble.

That simple. Stocks were just a means companies came up with to raise capital.

wait till E3 to save their stock... that's what Gilgamesh said... I trust Gilgamesh...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

What about Skyfall, isn't that from Sony Pictures aswell?

Doomed? No. In dire need of restructure? Yes. All Sony needs to do is stop spending so much money on R&D. Instead of trying to make a better TV just take the next 5 years to produce HDTV they way they are now, which a plenty good enough. The PS4 should be all off the shelf parts instead of expensive proprietary designed. As for games, Sony really needs to stop buying up developers. It's not working. Having a ton of 1st party games means nothing if nobody buys them. Stick with a few of the best 1st party devs, sell off the rest, and move on. MS makes tons of money because they produce high quality 1st party games in less quantity and rely on 3rd party licensing for the rest. Oh and subscription online gaming. MS makes a killing on it and Sony can't afford not to charge for it next gen.

I actually think it's good for Sony that they weren't on top this gen. The company had gotten cocky and made a lot of mistakes. Hopefully after being humbled they will learn their lesson and be smarter next gen. the Xbox brand is here to stay and Sony needs to stop ignoring that fact. They have real competition now and throwing money at all their problems clearly didn't work.

R&D and I think the Nokia bribe had a hand in it

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

It doesn't look good for Sony. They will have to sell part of their business this year to survive I think.

Oh Sony..., how the times have caught up to you, never invited you to his birthday party, stole your wallet and left you with silly tradition...
