What do you want to see happen with Devils Third

Canceled it isnt worth saving 2 14.29%

Nintendo takes over, becomes WiiU exclusive 3 21.43%

Microsoft takes over, becomes a 360 exclusive 3 21.43%

Sony takes over, puts it on Vita 0 0%

NamcoBandai saves it 4 28.57%

Capcom saves it 1 7.14%

Other publisher rescues i... 1 7.14%

Total:14

So I was hard at work writing another article on the decision to ditch Devil's Third. In the article I discuss the obvious reasons. The game being released so late in the current gens life cycle with far to many competitors. This makes the game very high risk. The cost over runs and the failure of the company responsible for the graphics engine. Lastly the fact that by the time Devil's Third would finally be released it would no longer appear high end. THQ is trying to change its image and all of its future games need to be cutting edge high quality games, Devil's Third releasing in 2013/14 would no longer be cutting edge. THQ needs to focus on its high end next generation releases. I go on to look at which companies are suited to take on Devil's Third saving it from being canned. The top five potential saviours are 1.Nintendo 2.Microsoft 3.Sony 4.NamcoBandai 5.Capcom. To see the full article go here http://wp.me/p2ozZL-7B

Why is the option for Sony only exclusive to the vita, not saying its like its anying wrong but you could add it to the PS3 as well.

I think a japanese publisher would pick this game up

Sega - they published a lot of platinue's games like bayonetta plus their looking for more IP's
Konami, Namco and Sony have a shot to publishs this game
I pray to good not samcom they'll probably release in disc dlc or have the ultimate devils third edition

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

In the actual article I mention multiplat for a Sony release. I did not include that in the poll to keep the answer short. Fact is if Sony acquires the game it will come to Vita, if it comes to PS3 it will be multiplat. I also address Sega, they are not really interested in new IP for existing platforms they just shelved a ton of announced and unannounced titles for current gen consoles. Shifting focus to their established strong IP and next generation development. Sega is not interested in taking a huge risk on a current gen title coming out this late in the current generation. Sega is in exactly the same mind set as THQ, focusing on big core IP for next generation.

No 1st party would pick up the game, except maybe MS on the outside. It holds no real value as a system exclusive and it's already built for multiple consoles that would be a waste money as they would have to throw away a huge chunk of work and further limit the games audience, I mean it's unlikely to turn a profit on multiple consoles let alone one.

EA partners would be a good choice, they let the devs keep the IP etc and have the will to push out more games and they have the money to market it. I think it is the option that Valhalla would prefer TBH. They have put out games like Shadows of the Damned, Bulletstorm, and the upcoming Overstrike.

Square Enix seem to like picking up other studios franchises these days so they would probably be interested. They have picked up such games as Dungeon Siege 3, True Crime: HK aka Sleeping Dogs, Dead Island (for North America), All Zombies Must Die etc.

Capcom is possible, it kinda fits in with their lineup as a Japanese developed game with a strong western influence, but they may see it as unwanted competition with their own games such as Lost Planet 3.

Bethesda Softworks are flush with cash after Skyrim and are desperate to expand their publishing library. They are also already working with Shinji Mikami.

Wait a minute, that blog page you are linking to Joel, all you wrote about THQ and Devil's Third is all based on speculation? You are funny.

It'd be ironic if Tecmo were to published this game.
