Famitsu’s unveiled EX Troopers in its new issue this week for 3DS and PS3 as a spin-off to Lost Planet.

The game, which was trademarked at the end of last year, will take place at a school academy of sorts featuring the fight between pirates and Akrid aliens on EDN-3rd.

It’ll also feature an anime look to it and, though it’s set in the world of Lost Planet, with Capcom hoping that players see it as a new title rather than a spin-off.

The game will be produced by Monster Hunter veteran Shintaro Kojima.

It’ll be playable at the end of next month at the Capcom Summer Jam in Japan. Development is 60% finished.

LoL Capcom must really hate the Vita, no Monster Hunter 4 for Vita and now this.

P.S. In case you can't tell, I was joking, let me spell it out for ya'. Clearly CAPCOM aren't trying to kill the Vita, it's just a funny choice of platforms.

Don't you think that if Capcom were making Monster Hunter for the Vita they would want to announce it with Sony at their E3 this year and make a much bigger bang than just a random announcement. I don't think anyone should count out the console until after E3... if nothing decent has been announced for this year/early next then perhaps the doom train can begin

I don't quite get this.
Was Ex Troopers a rumored and hyped Vita title ? Or is it because the 3DS gets a game and even a Playstation platform but not their handheld one ?
To me it rather looks like Capcom wants to kill the 3DS and PS3 with this announcement :P

Intresting. Doubt Capcom want to kill the Vita Capcom will announce titles for it soon im sure. They do seem to be strongly supporting the 3ds though.

Please stop saying things like "no Monster Hunter 4 for Vita" when we haven't heard one way or the other. There just hasn't been an announcement. It's not like cap said no Monster Hunter 4 for Vita
