there will be no BC anyways in the ps4. it is an overrated excuse for fanboys to hate on the ps4. why in gods name would i buy a ps4 to play ps3 games?? get real guys, sony thankfully realised they can make money by putting the games on psn and selling them for 5 euro. the same wil happen for the ps4.

Backwards compatibility is big for me this time. For the PS2 it never bothered me due to emulation, but I want a means to play my PS3 and PS4 games all on one console. Until of course a PS3 emulator comes out. If the rumour is true about no B/C on the Orbis I'll be sticking to PC and handhelds for gaming until major price drops.
As for any console,

Honestly that is actually cheap, people who complained about that price probably bought an ipad and MAC book Pro that is more expensive and a piece of shit
There are several things that could stop me from buying a PS4:
If the graphics are not improved by alot.
If PS4 requires always an online connection to play games.
If PS4 requires me to activate a game on my PSN before I can play it.
Each of those things would make me skip the whole next gen if not one console got it right.
If no compelling software exclusives from Square or Enix are released exclusively for PS4, then I won't get one. Looking back at PS3, knowing what would have happened in advance, I probably wouldn't have got one. The best thing about PS3 was playing PSX RPGs, which I could already do anyway with an actual PSX.
