My brother just bought me Tron: Legacy on Blu-Ray! What did you all think about that movie? Did you see the old one?

Tron Legacy is one of those movies where the audio-visual experience alone can carry the whole movie. The plot was barely there but the characterization (Bridges and Penn mostly) was just enough to make it bearable, and then you just have to sit back and enjoy the light show.

So yeh, I enjoyed it! Feast for the eyes, basically.

I did watch the original, it has aged very poorly, I just enjoy seeing a young(er) Bridges really.

Yeah, the musical score in Tron: Legacy is just phenomenal. Daft Punk blew it away. Looked great in 3D in the cinema too. Now I'll see how it is in 2D

Spoiler, it looks great! Although less 3D Olivia Wilde is a terrible shame.

I really enjoy the Original Tron even now. Bridges was great as always, but it had more than that. The effects were not garbage like most computer animated, 80's effects movies. The sound, and the colors were great even then! The head bad guy (does he even have a name?) was also one of the top bad guys of the 80's and 90's! Did a great job here, as well as the movie Time Bandits where he wore a similar rediculous costume.

This one was no different except it had updated visuals and more of today's Hollywood flare to it. As usual J. Bridges and Animated J.Bridges, was wonderful!

This living hell will never end! Chipmunks must die!!!

'Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked' Tops Home Entertainment Charts

20th Century Fox
"Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked"

Oscar nominee "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" debuts at No. 4 on DVD sales list.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment topped the national home video sales charts the week ending April 1, The film is the third installment in the hugely successful franchise of CGI/live-action features based on animated characters created for a 1958 novelty record.

The film grossed $132 million in domestic theaters, significantly less than its two predecessors, both of which made more than $200 million. But that’s still a tidy sum, and Fox marketers can take pride in the fact that Chipwrecked bumped Disney’s The Muppets from the No. 1 spot on both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks overall disc sales, and Nielsen’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart.

The Muppets finished its second week in stores at No. 3 on both charts, behind Universal Studios’ Hop, an Easter Bunny family film that finished its second week in stores at No. 2. Hop debuted at No. 3 on both charts the prior week but was released on a Friday instead of the traditional Tuesday, so its first-week sales tally only consisted of three days rather than six.

A second new release, Warner’s Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, debuted at No. 4 on First Alert and No. 5 on the Blu-ray Disc chart. The 9/11-themed drama about a boy who lost his dad in the World Trade Center attack earned just under $32 million in theaters. Its cast include Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and Max von Sydow.

The top three on Home Media Magazine’s weekly rental chart haven’t changed from the prior week: Sony Pictures’ The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo at No. 1, Universal Studios’ Tower Heist at No. 2 and Sony Pictures’ Jack and Jill at No. 3.

Both of last week’s high-profile new releases, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, are from studios that delay the availability of new releases at select rental outlets by 28 days or more. Extremely Loud nevertheless debuted at No. 15 on the rental chart, as Redbox has not agreed to Warner’s program and supplies its vending machines with copies purchased at retail.

I skipped Extremely Loud as well, but I am sure it was a good movie. Surprised that Hop did not make it to number one. They held on to it for a year just so it could fizzle on dvd? Too bad.

Recently I've seen Hunger Games and 21 Jump Street.

Hunger Games was shit, I give it like a 3/10.

But 21 Jump Street was great, really funny. Definitely an 8.5-9/10

I have heard great things about both movies.

What would you say went wrong with Hunger games in your opinion? Not enough action, or was too far away from the books for your liking?

Tatum really is proving to be the next big star! Same goes for his buddy, but since I cannot remember his name at this moment he must wait a little while longer.

Agreed. The soundtrack is one of the best in recent years. I watched (or listened) to this movie 3 times shortly after buying it on blu-ray. Great use of surround sound and the .1 in 7.1
