I watched Food inc. last night. I already knew about the subsidized corn over production and bad treatment of mass produced animals, however I didn't know about the horrible working conditions in slaughterhouses and the grip patents have on farmers.
It is now illegal to re-use your own seed as patented seed might have blown in from neighbouring fields and you'll get sued by Monsanto burying you in legal fees before you ever get to a judge.
It was also interesting to see how the big corporations keep as much information of food labels as possible.

I already prefer buying locally produced vegetables and fruit, I guess I should pay more attention to where the meat comes from too.
