UK Wii -360 gap falling slower now

Not unexpected during these slow weeks, I expect the gap to close extremely fast during:

Star Wars Kinect release week.

Halo 4 release week.

November/early december.

It'll get there, but the coming weeks will be the slow part of the job.

It's weird seeing 360 outsell PS3 like that. Pretty much everyone I know that plays games has a PS3, and maybe only half have a 360.

huh? talking about represantive? i live in germany and most people i know own a 360 but ps3 is outselling the 360 easily. now what? do you suggest fake sales-numbers or what?

Everything doing terrible in the UK.

If you live in UK or USA it's more "360" than "PS3". PS3 is for the rest of the world.

I know, my point was that I live in the UK and I experience the total opposite, it's weird.

Somebody's got to be in the minority - it just never seems like it.  Also both the PS3 and 360 tend to group people around the online, so while as a group it might seem everyone is on PS3 or 360 the larger perspective can easily be different.

I have a PS3 and 360 and two sons, one son's peer group are 360 centric and the other PS3 centric for example.  Each thinks their group has tbe better games funnily enough.  In fact they are almost a microsm of the HD console wars.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

PS3 has sold millions in the UK and sells about 1m a year there vs X360's 1.5m, so I dunno why you find it weird. You and your group are in the 40% (out of the HD)

The weird thing is that it's not just my group of friends, it's pretty much my whole school :P

Haha, that must be a pain in the arse. You should just take away their consoles and get them Wiis xD

Well as Seece says your in the (still large) 40% group.  Most people at your school being one way or the other would make sense.  My sons go to different schools too and one school most boys tend to have a 360, the other a PS3.  TBH next gen what's going to make it interesting is to see if pre-formed groups carry over or not - i.e. will a group of friends on Live stay on Live and commit to another Xbox or would then move - and the same of course for PSN/PS3 users.

This is very interesting. And both schools are in the same area I'm assuming.

The power of community and word of mouth regarding the adoption of a console is staggering, there is no other explanation I can think of!
