It's been fun the past 6 months watching Sony fans defend something they swore they would never go along with... paying to play their games online + other multimedia services.

Give up. Whatever you say your sensibility is clouded judgement in their eyes. Marketing perception is everything which MS is a masterful company at employing. They do not understand that not every person who pays for Xbox Live is playing multiplayer. 

It still has free online multiplayer gaming even still..it would be one thing if there was no online multi-player option on the PS4 and that you had to have PSN+ to play all online Multi-player  game's on the PS4. which is not completely true, you still have as an option to still play "certain game's" with online multi-player component absolutly free, with out the need for playstation +

yes its Free 2 play, or some MMO's, but that still means that yes there still is an option of "free online multi-player gaming on the PS4" despite the claim that SONY NOW "FORCES YOU AS A CONSUMER TO PAY FOR ONLINE MULTI-PLAYER" that's like saying that microsoft has no online multi-player gaming on xboxone without gold sub being required, which is not true, spark is a fine example of no xboxlive gold being required as a sub.

The only real reason to bring this up as some Gamer's on both sides trying to paint the Sony fanbase or the Microsoft fanbase as some how being "hypocritical" of the situation, and both sides have been in the past and the future, its pretty fraking moot at this point because both offer online multi-player Gaming for free for the consumer now anyway.

if its true , which it is its pretty moot trying to bring up the forced multi-player = Pay wall issue now because its not really true at all in both cases there is an option to play online, with "certain games with out having to pay through a pay wall except for your internet provider.

If you want Sony to become part the problem, then yeah you're right.

But Sony are riding the good-publicity-wave now. They *need* to be *hugely* successful this gen. They're all-in with PS4. The last thing they need at this point is to scare away gamers for making them pay extra for inconsequential things like NetFlix or a browser. That would be stupid.

They think PS+ has enough value to subscribe, and I think they're right.

There were threads back in the day where any mention of paying for online would be met with damn near death threats. A lot of us predicted it but not quite like it turned out. I wouldn't mind digging up some of those old threads.
