MCV is reporting (via an anonymous retail source) that sales of Sony’s PlayStation 3 console have spiked by a whopping 65 percent in the U.K. on the back of last week’s price cut.
Not a bad effort.

It's strange that game sales haven't seen much of a boost, in fact it looks like they may actually be doing worse...
TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - INDIVIDUAL FORMATS (UNITS), WEEK ENDING 20 August 2011
14 Xbox 360
11 Wii
4 PS3
And two of those PS3 titles were outsold by Kinect Joy Ride, I wonder what's up with that?
If we extrapolate that to WW sales it would be about 211.000 units sold for the week.
No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.
It's about... 11k. On par with the 360
But I think that the full effect wasn't shown in this week due to the hurry nature of the pricecut.

LOL. I know. I was just pointing out how these sales article fail to provide the numbers other than throwing percentages around.
Considering the UK is PS3's weakest territory (marketshare-wise) the boost is probably even bigger in other countries. And sales are expected to increase next week.

Sorry... all others consoles sells better than PS3 in UK... so weakest.
PS3 is stronger in Japan even it selling less numbers than US.
PS3 isn't stronger in UK... face it dude.
Same for the US... the weakest PS3 territory together with UK.
