Namco Europe Junior Community Manager Charlotte Toci has retracted her statement from April, where she claimed a Microsoft exclusivity contract was preventing Tales of Vesperia from seeing a PlayStation 3 release in the west. Her statement, issued on Facebook, apologizes for wrongly “sharing a false information to fans.” 

Here’s the thing in full:

A few months ago I replied to a fan who asked me why Tales of Vesperiawasn’t localized in Europe on my Facebook page. I replied that it was because of a Microsoft exclusivity, thinking that that was the reason why, even though I didn’t have any official information on that.

I was wrong to do so, and sadly my reply was relayed on many websites, thus sharing a false information to fans around the web.

I would like to send my sincere apologies to all the Tales Series fans I have wrongly informed, and Microsoft & Namco Bandai for any damage that might have been caused with this.

The fight for Vesperia on PS3 in the west continues.

If you really wanted this game, you would own a 360.

I already imported a $90 Japanese copy (shipping cost included) and am learning the language for the game (and for other games we weren't graced with). IMO, it beats getting a console that I've not had interest in since early 2009.

She seems to say: "I was wrong to reply that it was because of a MS esclusivity" and not "I was wrong to reply that because it was a false information". :p

False information my ass, we all know what happens behind closed doors with Microsoft.

She exposed Namco as sell outs and Microsoft as a greedy corporation, if only everybody had a tongue as loose as hers, I know what is going on behind closed doors and I don't agree with it.

Can't be a fight if Namco isn't participating. They're not going to focus on ToV anymore, as awesome as it'd be to see ToV PS3 get released here. It's too late now; their focus is on ToGF and Abyss, and possibly Xillia in the future, not older games.
