but how relevant is it if it is 1000 % more powerfull then the ps3? exactly not at all
since in a year or 2 we also have the new sony and microsoft consoles which is what we should compare it with

You're absolutely right.

So, take into account that the CPU and GPU rumor are basically the latest tech of each, especially when you consider the cost constraints. MSony will most definitely want to keep it at relatively near profitability with a launch price no higher than $400.

With that in mind and if I'm right and they launch by 2013, you will see items that are only slightly more powerful than WiiU. Meaning, a difference similar in power as PS2 was to Xbox/GC. Not a whole lot and definitely not something that would make 3rd parties ditch any given system... unless it was topping out at 20m sold LTD.. which probably isn't going to happen to any of them.

Really, because the PS360 can produce the same levels as that Zelda demo at 1080p... right.

It will end up being 5 to 10x more powerful than ps360 and when they upgrade they will be a few times more powerful than it.

that demo is definitely not the technical marvel you seem to think it is.

It clearly has better technology in many areas than anything I've seen on PS360.... and it was in 1080p (which is confirmed for all, Nintendo at least, games and I'm sure I read somewhere it was 60fps).

Also as said above, the rumored Power7 CPU and R700 GPU in any conceivable fashion are significantly more powerful than PS360's setup. Its just way too obvious that WiiU will be a generational step above PS360.

Maybe it was Sakurai while talking about Smash Bros. with Iwata:

Sakurai noted that as the Wii U is an HD system, this version could offer 60 frames per second visuals, high quality graphics, dynamic effects, and smooth character movements

Neither PS3 nor 360 support native 1080p except a very few select titles (and those are usually PSN/XBLA). Wii U will do that according to Nintendo.

But really now, 360 came in 2005, wasn't even the most powerful device at the time, a powerful PC was better. PS3 has yet to show me that its better than 360, other than the extra storage on the blu-ray disc (Yeye GoW3, UC etc. go play Crysis on 360). So do you really not think that a console coming out in 2012 wont be more powerful? Obviously Nintendo is not aiming to be next gen, but it should be quite a bit more powerful.

So only 5 times slower than modern gaming pc with single gpu rather than 8 to 10x like ps3 is.

I thought it was going to be the same power as PS3, or at least that is what Sony people have been saying; so this is much more powerful than what I was expecting.

Xbox 1 had some really good looking games.

Wii is easily more powerful than last gen. Not as much as it should have been, but it is 2-3x more powerful than xbox or GC and they where both a bit more powerful than PS2.


No, more like 20% more powerful than Xbox 1. If it really was 2-3 as powerful then why the hell does the best looking GC and Xbox games look like Wii games more ore less? And remember that those games where out in 2004. A consoles grows a lot in 5 years, just look at 360 games from 2006.

If that's true, than that's only a small increase. After 6 years that the PS3 has come out I'd be hoping for at least 10 times more powerfull.... I'll guess when the next box and PS4 will come out, both of those console will have a lot more power than the Wii U. 3rd party developers will stop developing for the Wii U (which is the same for the Wii these days). It will probably get different versions like Fifa Wii and CoD Wii.
