My Vita + 8GB + games have arrived!!!! I've got Uncharted, Dungeon Hunter (thanks to a big discount) and although I didn't order/pay for another game there was Virtual Tennis 4 in my delivery. Looks like someone at amazon.de made a little mistake :)

Will post my impressions later!

You're very lucky for getting a Vita and a Free game! YOU LUCKY BASTARD!

Congratulations... I have to work harder!

Damn - Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is getting torn apart in reviews. I like these type of games, too bad they messed up so bad on this one.

And destructiod on Modnation Racers: "I'd say its existence could be directly harmful to the Vita, given how it's one of the bigger titles available at launch and makes the Vita look like it's only capable of producing garbage."

BlazBlue is getting good reviews though, not a big fighter fan but the they are making it tempting, especially with all the different game modes.

Jim Sterling is a professional Troll, I rarely trust what destructoid says.  At one point, ALL the Vita games he'd reviewed, he'd given them the lowest score they'd gotten.  Lowest on ModNation, lowest on Little Deviants, lowest on all the game he'd reviewed.  Not sure  if that's still the case, but yeah.

ModNation is missing the online play and has some crummy load times, but aside from that it's really good!  levels were designed well, great creation features, great vibrant visuals, surprisingly effecting soundtrack.  Got some good and some bad, lots more good than bad, but the bad is pretty significant.

Disgaea 3 on the Vita is like an enhanced Game of the Year type version of the PS3 one. It has all the DLC included ($50 worth, since there's a bundle of all DLC for the PS3 version on the store for $50), plus new characters and scenarios, and I don't know if they took any features from Disgaea 4 and put them in the game.

Also, Dungeon Hunter Alliance is seriously overpriced. It might be a good game to pick up if it goes $20 or less, but at $40, it's not worth picking up. I know the PS3 version is a fun game and I'm sure that transferred over to the Vita version, but it's not worth full price. It's definitely a game I will buy when the price is right.

I think there are (30) races in the circuit mode, so my guess would be ~(30). However, online there are millions more.

30 in the career mode, 6 circuits with 5 races each.  All pretty good, too.

As for the Vita, the more I play it the more I love it.  like any hardware, it's hard to recommend at launch since we all know it'll be cheaper later and the software, while great for a launch, isn't enough on its own to justify a buy.  That said, I've reasonably enjoyed each of the games I've played on it.  Little Deviants was decent but nothing special, which is about what you'd expect.

My final launch count is:

Little Deviants
ModNation Racers
Rayman Origins
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Wipeout 2048

Super Stardust HD.

Not one of these games is uninteresting to me.  I haven't actually got Wipeout or Uncharted, but I played demos and I am thoroughly impressed.  I also want to download another couple games (Motorstorm RC, Gravity Rush, and Escape plan), so that's a hell of a launch lineup, to say nothing for Lumines and Marvel vs Capcom and other great games that I'm not quite interested in enough to justify a purchase but are getting very good reviews.

I'm not ashamed to say that, of all the console launches I've seen, this is easily the most impressive in my opinion.  I've loved a lot of consoles at launch, and I've loved a lot of consoles over their lifetime, but this is easily the best start I've seen.  Time will tell if it's as good as its potential suggests, but with a launch like this and some of the great games announced for it, I think it'll do just fine.  Hell, I know I'm super excited for Final Fantasy X.

Can we get a list of AAA titles coming out for the system that we know about?  Call of Duty, Resistance, Killzone, probably a Ratchet and Clank, we have uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, etc.

USA Today dubs the Vita as a "Handheld Gaming Beast" and awards it a 3.5/4 (87.5)

USA Today has one of, if not the widest circulation of any newspaper in the US. Only rivaled by Wall Street Journal I believe.

A good score. USA Today gave 3DS a 3.25/4 when it first launched. I think they should a re-review now that it has more games, applications, and a price cut, but it's alright since most people are smart enough to know what's recent.

The Vita launch is better than the 3DS launch, but how will it hold in the long run? Will it receive a price cut if it doesn't sell well? Will they discontinue the 3G? What will happen to it if it doesn't do will? But, we should keep a postive mind about these launchs. 3DS had a rough start, but now it's the fastest selling console. The Vita should do better in the Americas and Europe, though i'm a bit lost with Europe since it's a bit like Japan with sales.
