Forums - Nintendo Discussion - (Rumor) Project Cafe QFHD Resolution?

I HIGHLY doubt this - Doesn't make any sense whatsoever to implement this in Cafe

1080p is MORE than enough imo

So let me get this right, you are posting a rumor that an unknown site posts based on a post of another unknown forum...

Sorry, I'm not going to bite.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

BS if you ask me.

No way. I haven't heard a thing about TVs with support for resolution higher than 1080p, and even higher resolution PC monitors are extremely uncommon. Well, maybe it can have support for QFHD but I doubt it's getting used ever.

I imagine it's about the number of pixels instead of the size of the image.

Well, it does seem very unlikely, but if the screens on the handsets are HD too, again unlikely - think of the cost, Cafe might have to process images that are the equvilent of two to three HD displays running concurrently. One full screen 1080p T.V. and upto four, HD 720p screens on the handsets? That is if different content were displayed on all five screens... a mouthwatering possibility, but the stuff of dreams I think.

It is much more likely that Cafe will be able to display one 1080p screen, all or parts of which can then be streamed to upto four, mid-range resolution, handset screens. That is still a lot of image processing.

I think that Nintendo will certainly support 720p (or higher) in the next generation, and there is a moderate chance that they will support 1080p and a slim chance that they will support 3D. I don't think Nintendo would support anything beyond that, because it would be a feature that would be used by (pretty much) no one in the life of the hardware.

That figure is about the number of pixels.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

hmm so Nintendo goes from no HD to "Quad" HD, go figure

It better be more powerful than the PS3.
