I know this can be quite subjective, but using these attributes, who do you think generally has the *BEST* 1st party library. And name 3 games to support your choice...

1. Diversity
2.Quality (reviews, goty, metacritic)
3.Technicality (graphics, controls etc)
4.Sales (avg and overall)
5.Quantity (amount of 1st party games released)
6.Amount of shitty games/shovelware

 

Ok, since I only own a 360, and the ps3 1st party library is similar to the 360 library...I would vote ps3 for diversity, quality, technicality, and having the least amount of shovelware.

I edited because Demon's Souls is not 100% first party, and Heavy Rain is technically second party.

But they are both published by Sony, at least Demon's Souls in Japan. Sony is a weird company, owns Demon's Souls but doesn't publish it, publishes Heavy Rain but doesn't own it.

And also, PS3.  Too many fantastic games.  And I don't regard the Wii series very highly.

EDIT: Also, sales are not subjective, Wii wins there. What that has to do with quality is another story.

Any other gens I would have said a Nintendo console but this time I got to say the PS3.

I mean I know it's all opinion but I actually agreed with your list until 6.  Surely even you don't believe this.  The Wii is the poster child for shovelware games (Especially from third parties) hardcore Nintendo zealots would even say this.

Well the topic is only for first party, but still.  Only with Move has PS3 come even close to winning this category.  I think Ninty is a lock if anyone, not Sony.
