The launch lineup had some standouts (IMO Dance Central and Sports) and some 2nd tier games (again IMO, Adventures).  THe wife has enjoyed ZUmba and Biggest Loser and the boy enjoyed Kinectimals.

So yes, I have been satisfied with Kinect, it is fun and an is always an instant party  success.

But to be honest, we need the next wave of games to come out.  Soon.

for those who voted the second choice please let themselves known... its not a valid response if you havent played it

I'd say most of them are Sony/Nintendo trolls, with nothing better to do other than skew votes. Polls are useless on this site.

The poll is useless because the amount of Sony fans that would go out of their way to troll a succesful product is stupendous, not saying that some of MS fans are any better, but they number considerably smaller amount, thus having less of the inflated "negative" impact on the poll. I don't have it so I voted the third option to see the result, I was not disappointed with my little prediction. What's also amusing of the supposed 20 people that don't like it only about 2-3 bothered to post why.

Better way would have been tallying the votes in the thread, where users actually had to physically post yes or not, other than that it's a bit useless

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

good hardware, but no gamez :(

As it stands, I'm happy with what Kinect offers.  Like many have said, it has good hardware.  There weren't as many voice commands as I'd have liked but the ones that are there work like a charm.  The novelty of telling Kinect to pause/fast forward/ play game/ tell me I'm pretty hasn't worn off, yet.

I'm hoping for some software that will really take advantage of it, soon.  Maybe an updated Seaman port?  I've played online with it connected and I've tried the video Kinect and the microphone picks up EVERYTHING.  It's like I'm in the same room.  I even tried having a video chat with my GF using Kinect in the living room and me using the Xbox Live Vision Camera from the game room.  Worked flawlessly!

The hand gesturing worked well for me, too.  I had to calibrate it with the little card that came with the system.  I actually prefer using the hand gestures to control the menu more than I like using the controller.  It takes a little more effort since I'm using my whole arm instead of just my thumbs but it feels cool.  Again, this is probably a novelty thing.  I'm also impressed by how the console logs me in automatically.  Once, I logged in as my daughter and it still knew that it wasn't me.  I guess I don't look like a little elementary school girl......

The only games I own are Kinect Adventures and Dance Central.  Both of them work very well but I've been told that they do a pretty good job of masking any lag.  Dance Central just feels right.  Kinect Adventures does have so noticeable lag but once I got used to it, it was all good.  AS long as i don't move at supersonic speed, it does what I need it to do.  I tried the demos for Kinect Sports, Body and Brain Connection, and EA Sports Active and all of them felt great.  I never considered myself the type of gamer to play a fitness game but EA's game is awfully tempting.  My sis tried it and it worked like a charm.  It even fooled her into thinking that it did an X-Ray of her body!

I'm not a casual gamer but at this point, I'm fully satisfied with Kinect having mostly casual games.  I'd like to see a Punch-Out!! rip-off or something.  I'm not really sold on the idea of playing a driving game with Kinect, either.  I have tons of FPS games, RPG's, Platformers, and stuff in my library already.  I never expected Kinect to replace the controller.  I guess I was just looking for Kinect to provide something different and new.  It may not be 100% original but for me, it works and it gives me what I need.  M$ says that they've only just begun.  I'm looking forward to E3 and seeing what new experiences they can come up with.

--Thanks to all who've posted in this thread with their opinions.  It's been food for thought.  Keep 'em coming!

It surprised me to. I thought it would be great. But what it actually did was make everyone I know play videogmaes. When they even wouldnt play a Wii. No controller really is less daunting. It's the best purchase I made since 360 came out for hardware.

It's been out for almost 5 months now right? Is there any high profile Kinect game been released yet, apart from the launch lineup?

My only Kinect experience is with Fighters Uncaged at a friend's house. We played for almost 2 hours until we nearly passed out. It was fun.

And therein lies the reason I still believe Kinect sales are gonna drop like a rock. There are simply no new games. so the success is then going to rely on the longevity of the launch lineup that was released back in November, which wasn't even good to begin with. Once people have had enough of Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures, and Dance Central, then what? If people thought people got bored with Wii fast, a console that has like 1000 games, they haven't seen nothin yet..

Child of Eden and Star Wars will not be enough to keep Kinect going. It needs games.

I voted the third option just to be nice to save some people the grief of honesty.

Yeah I agree.

Im afraid Kinect is the fad of this gen and that it'll be near dead by X-mas. I do not predict this yet, but Im very afraid it will be so. Would be a huge fiasco too and they'd rub it in our faces.
