WTF is with the worshipping of scores these days? I miss the NES days -- I didn't even read the scores. If a game sounded looked and sweet to you, you checked it out.

Yay!  Smarts!

Umm, no, it's not smart at all to plop down $60 on a game you know nothing about. Some people take review scores too close to heart, but overall it has been good to us.

If the sound isn't so annoying and repeating as in Sonic, the controls arent't as louzy as in Sonic and the camera isnt't such a pain as in Sonic and the Eternal Ring, ... I'll buy it. If it are the same issues or worse.... NO THANKS!

Review content is what is important folks. Review scores are incredibly unimportant to all but the most simple of minds.

NiGHTs should be rated a lot higher, but the reality is that Sega is just too cash strapped to buy another 10% on their review scores across the board, like the other publishers do.

TAKE THAT!

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Back in the NES days games radiated awesome or fail.  You could touch the packaging and carry it around the store with you looking at it... and you knew just by doing that whether or not the game would be great.  Reviews weren't necessary... and still aren't.

People get too hung up on scores and forget about the simple fun gaming brings.  Remember, that's why people play games... to have fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed 1UP's review. You can always tell their distinctive, uh, "style" when they review a Wii title:

If you harbor fond memories of the original Nights into Dreams... for Sega Saturn you'll surely welcome this decade-late sequel with open arms...well, at least once you eschew the abhorrent new Wii-mote control scheme for a Classic Controller or GameCube pad.

You earn masks that transform the titular clown into new forms (a rocket, dolphin, and dragon), but these abilities all feel gimmicky and underutilized...

That said, this still represents one of the finest original third-party games available for Wii, and younger players will find a lot to love in this gameplay-rich adventure.

Classic.

Umm  yea, I'll take the opinion of someone who played the game over the packaging on the case.

Sega's quality has been down the drain for years. They've made some games that are OK in the last 8 years (Beach Spikers, Monkey Ball, Panzer Dragoon: Orta, JSR), but they've not had a blockbuster hit since the Dreamcast.

It's pretty sad to see them like this.

The original didn't get high marks either. The GameRanking is probably inflated by fan sites and Sega focused magazines.
